Being 50 state legal would be the greatest determining factor. Color be damned. Make it pink for all I care. If it has a CARB stamp I'm pretty much sold.

being 50 states legal (mainly california) is my biggest item when considering forced induction. not that it would stop me from getting any of the other kits.

It's this or Kraftwerks for me. Which of the two depends on results, price and CARB legal.

definitely need the CARB certification to even consider this option, which looks to be really promising with Vortech over the turbo options.

Realizing, once you go FI, dealer visits may not be an option for some things, I was just looking at http://kraftwerksusa.com/install-centers/ after your post..

no one in az.. versus 8 dealers in AZ who are familiar with Vortech installation and troubleshooting.

Things DO break, and sometimes to get the help from a professional who installs the system you own regularly, is a boon, no matter how strong I may feel about by own skills.

I am not concerned about that, but I can understand where you're coming from.

Personally, outside of a recall or TSB situation, no one but me works on my car.

My last car was a 2001 MR-S, into which I swapped a 3.5L V6 (2GRFE). Not many techs would want to get near that I also built a custom Rotrex SC setup for the same car prior to the V6 swap.

I am partial to the Rotrex SC, since I've had good experiences with their SC units. However, the rest of the kit, CARB status, and value/$ may trump my Rotrex preference.

I can't wait to get the details on both kits. This teasing stuff is awful!!!

How did you fit that into an mr-s? And how quick was it? They are light cars

ISO9001 is a big fucking deal. It's a quality standard of business practices, quality control, and process improvement that is internationally recognized. I do ISO9001 auditing, and lead the certification for our precast plant.

BTW, the certificate you linked to expired in 2009. Have they kept it up since then?

Yeah, if you want to modify cars, don't live in such a uptight state. Or just do it anyway.

I don't care about carb legal. Any small company trying to do it will be eating a huge cost just to get it. And that cost goes into the price. I live in a free state, so I don't need it. I under stand that people in ca want it tho, and that's fine. But I'm not paying for it any more than I have already both in cost and performance.

Do you think they're just sitting on the forums all day waiting to answer replies?
