You can add me on the list
Now i feel like part of the CEL Club i almost thought i wasn't as "Special"

Its an FR-S, 7082xx, 3200mi, 2.5 days, San Diego, CA

I had the Idle dip 350-400rpm really bad sounds coming out of the engine when happening and flashing CEL 1 day, the Slip light and Sold CEL the next no idle issues, so took it in they checked it, got the usual code of P0019 Camshaft Position but i got a new one that hasn't popped up (I Searched) C1201 ECU malfunction, had a field rep come out from Toyota with Subaru Equipment to flash the ECU when talking to the Tech after the work was done i guess Subaru wont share the Re-Flash code/equipment to the dealers yet or else it would have been quicker then waiting on the field tech. Local Tech Drove it 50mi on 2 different days no issues, picked it up today was happy to see Summer <3 (my FR-S) have put 30mi on it so far so good lets see the long term........
Oh and i had the fuel pump chirp which i did mention and its on the work order, but seems to be quieter now???? but they did nothing the field tech said it was "Normal" if its as bad as when i dropped it off i am going to come in with the TSB and insist they change this $hit.

FINALLY!

Subaru Canada Tech came and replaced my ECM and I'm CEL/TRAC free.. I've been cursed with the CEL/TRAC since day 1. Feels like the car woke up from its grave.

Didn't say I liked it either. Just explained it.

I generally just leave the negative terminal disconnected for 15 minutes while I do something else. One less thing to put back since a broken circuit is a broken circuit.

I've been trying to contact the dealership since last Friday. My service rep never picks up the phone so I called again and asked for the manager. Rung the manager and it ended up bring me to voicemail. So I left a friendly message asking to please keep me updated on my FRS. NO REPLY. So last night after class I went over to TOYOTA to talk to them personally. That's when I found out that my service rep is on vacation. GREAT. The only service rep who was still at the dealership that night had no way of confirming when the ETA of my ECU is. He said he doesn't know what they're doing with my car. So he told me hes gonna call me today to let me know whatsup. And how about it, it's already 9pm and I got not a single call from them. This is ridiculous. Best service

Post Repair Leaks?

Has anyone who have have their cam gears replaced noticed any post repair leaks? I'm asking because I don't see any but when the engine is fully warmed up and the car is standing still I'm noticing the a faint smell of oil coming thru the ventilation system. I only had the car for a week before and I don't remember smelling anything but I might not have noticed it.

I have opened up the hood and there's no smoke and no signs of staining onto the heat shield. Any ideas?

Maybe the techs got some oil on the engine when either draining it or filling it and the heat burning it off.

A few smells for me but that burned off. Think it was just left over oil from them raping my engine.

Got my FR-S back two days ago. New ECU. 6 weeks in shop. I notice some idle hunting every now and then but it seems to be short-lived and the idle quickly stabilizes. I am still in the 100km ECU learning phase.

Engine was completely replaced and my car has been running great over the past few days. My status can be updated to repaired as of now. Subaru and I came to an agreement that I'm happy with and that's all I'm going say about that
