Hey guys, I didn't read through all 60 some odd pages so I dont know if it's already been posted, but a buddy of mine who owns a red frs (I think he's on here too) sent me this link from autoweek.com which will help me sleep at night since I want to get myself an FR-s in the coming weeks.

Where do you see that TSB for the BRZ? How can I bring it to my service manager's attention with rock hard evidence that this should get fixed?

I don't see a tsb for it looking here : Subaru Technical Information System

but on the phone tsb was mentioned. Again it was a field tech that was working on my car today and the info was passed on to me my a service advisor so it's like playing that old game of telephone. I can not confirm or deny there is a tsb and it is not yet listed here. Save the link and bring it in when it shows on the list and have them fix that biotch!

Sorry I couldn't get the link to post from my iPhone.

This. It's one way of making sure there's zero residual voltage left in the caps etc. in the electronics.

Blew up my dealer's facebook page with a complaint about my dirty car. I own a performance shop and I do at least $30k/yr in parts business with them. I got a call back today and expressed my displeasure with how filthy the vehicle was returned to me. They are going to talk to the managers and get back to me about some sort of compensation. Also told them I would like SOA to contact me about a goodwill extended warranty for my soon the be lemon.

Took my GBS in yesterday to have he GPS looked at. I had called SOA and asked to have the fix done. They said to make an aappointment. When I dropped he car off I asked them to check on the cricket problem and look into the TSB.

Got the car back today. The SOA rep didn't do anything about the GPS. The service writer said they ordered parts for the crickets but they were back ordered til December. Great!

But the real fun started on the third start after picking up the car. Got the CEL and TC lights. Went back to the dealer. They pulled the code and said it was a cam sensor so I'm assuming it was P0019. Will confirm that tomo. They reset it and sent me on my way. Third start again and the light was back. I don't have the idle issue but the car seems a little down on power.

I've done a lot of reading on this issue and it seems the jury is out on whether this is a mechanical or electronics issue. It would seem very coincidental that a problem in the top end of the engine just happened to pop up right after the techs were in there running diagnostics. Could they have reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery and that caused it to not learn properly?

I'm hoping a reflash or something equally simple will fix the problem. Do we have consensus on the real cause or could there be multiple failure modes?

For the record I have 2200 miles on the car and the vin is in the 6028XX range. MT Limited.

Back in saddle again and it feels like the very first time. After 40 days FRS being in the shop, I forgot how good the car drives. I drove 30 miles with no noticable idle dip. SOA will discuss compensation after a few days. I am not going to settle for just one car payment and extended warranty like most are getting. My car has been depreciated by having mechanics repairing VVTI which SOA said its a software problem now. Plus 40 days dealing with SOA broken promises should be worth something, not counting all the sleepless nights. I hope all other owners get a speedy recovery. DRIVE LARGE

So just an update on my post from a few hours ago. Got my car back a few hours later, and was told everything was hunky-dory now. Cricket was gone with the replacement of the fuel pump, and a few other parts I can't remember. The code they pulled off the CEL was a T191...can anyone specify on that? Anyways, drove it about 20 miles home and seemed to be no issues, ran so smooth without the damn fuel pump issue. Happy at this point, but I'll give it another 60-80 miles before I call it "fixed". Also, no more idle dip. Stayed at a solid 650RPM, just like it should. Anyone with the cricket issue, HAVE YOUR DEALER REPLACE YOUR FUEL PUMP! My car was having massive idling issues which seem to be directly related to the fuel pump.
