Look, people buy cars with many different motivations.

Some people buy cars for track toys. Those will be the ones you see modded to the extreme with a stripped out interior, huge wing, tow hook, nondescript beat up track rims, huge BBK, wide fat rubber... And a drift car will look different from a circuit race car which will look different from a rally car which will look different from a drag car.

Other people buy cars for fashion, either for car meets or for car shows. Show cars will be the ones with air ride suspensions, blingy big rims on tiny tires, scissor doors, body kits, agressive fitment, big booming subwoofers, leather wrapped interiors, excessive fashion accents.

And still other people buy cars, keep them stock, and drive them slowly and considerately, never caring to modify them from how they drove when they bought them.

And you will see everything in between. In my view, there is no wrong answer. It's your money, do what makes you happy with your vehicle.

Exactly some poor deprived people buy perfectly good performance cars and turn them in to POSER cars. This makes the people who care about cars sad.
It does make it easier to pick out the douchebags, why can't they just watch jersey shore and stop killing cars.

There is such a thing as bad taste and the “O it’s your money do what you want” thing is a huge cop out and just BS. Of course you can do what you want, that does not mean that you should or that other people who have to look at the piece of shit you just put on the road don’t have the right to educate you on your bad decision making.

Basic form follows function design rules apply to sports cars If your going to hurt the performs of your car don’t buy a Fing sports car you douch……
Cars have feelings too and when you hurt them they will bit you. So don’t mod your Dog they deserve your love. I may have gotten confused what were we talking about again?

I used to "hate" the hellaflush thing, because compared to the "car scene" of yesteryear, there's a massive amount of money being dumped into seriously crippling cars, instead of trying to make them performance machine.

For example. the volkswagen crew hellaflush, camber the crap out of their car, and on top of it put a ski rack because that's just the cool thing to do.

But the truth is I very much enjoy looking at those cars, they look sick! But I'll never do it to my cars. It's a big waste of money and you just killed your car's resale value. People can do what they want in the end. I want my car to go where I want and not drive like a sissy around town

That one's easy. Owner of the car (picture reposted for posterity) calls someone up and pays to have the speed bump removed before he passes over that section of road.

On Hellaflush:

I don't like things that don't fit. Hellaflush is improper fitment. The end. It's wheels with offsets that are wrong for the vehicles they're on and tires that don't fit the wheels they're put on.

If that's your thing, fine. But don't be surprised when people in a crowd that's built up around a car that was marketed as the everyman's track car don't like it when people do EXTREMELY non-functional modifications. Does it really affect my life if someone goes hellaflush on their car? No. But I don't like to see the engineering work Toyota and Subaru put in so badly compromised just for a look that to 90% of the population just looks like someone couldn't afford to buy parts that fit their car.

Heh. I wonder if that's how hellaflush started. "I can't afford to buy new wheels, but I have these ones from my old car, and I can't afford tires but I have these ones that are the right diameter, let's see if it fits!"

"Bro, your shit looks whack, why are your wheels sticking out and why are your tires so small"

"Nah man, it's the new thing, everyone's doing it, it's hellaflush bro!"

Nathan
Yeah and thats why we've seen more crashed cars because every kid who buys this car thinks they are Ken Gushi!

Hellaflush is pushing the wheel as wide as you can get. Engine tuners do the same thing with the engine until something gives.

That's kind of how it started. Back in the days, there wasn't any custom offsets so owners had to use what was available on the market. Baseball bats were used to roll fenders and of course the idea was the wider the better.

It's funny how most of you young guys think that this is new when wide wheels and stretched tires have been around for a long time.

I like normal flush.

Dead even with no wheel gap. Top of the tire perfectly flat flush with the fender. -2 degrees camber all the way around.

Yes! Camber can be good. But, just like booze, too much is bad! I ran -1 front camber and -2 rear camber on my S2000. no issues, tires wore normal.

Hellaflush was created by tire manufactures and fender repair shops secretly working together! lol
