In answering my own question and for anyone else who is curious, I found this reply on another forum from someone working at Swift:
"Those are the correct springs. And yes they are linear. The progressive portion of those springs act as a helper spring and they are fully collapsed at static height. In creating lowering springs the spring would obviously have to be shorter, and then on top of that we have increased the spring rates a significant amount as well. This in turn will make the spring so short that it will play around in the shock, especially going up driveways or speedbumps. To fix this we have this portion of the spring act like a helper spring, just like what you would see on a coilover setup. These springs are a linear spring on the vehicle."

Someone call or email them and ask. I asked about a month ago and they said the springs were a month out, so I am hoping they will be released real soon.

I want to know now, but since I'm in Canada and about to get pelted with snow I'm holding off until spring for suspension parts anyway

I learned the stock dampers are different on FRS and BRZ versions, therefore the sport springs will be different to accommodate the different stock dampers. It appears they've done their homework.

^^ They're the only spring company, so far, with different springs for FR-S and BRZ, everyone else is just selling a single fitment which is probably a compromise on both cars instead of being optimal for either.
