Mine happened less than a day later. Give or take, about 50 miles.

#81 update

10/9 call from service advisor that a field tech will be out tomorrow to flash my ecu as they do not have the equipment as of yet to perform this and they will call me afterwords to give me news.

Not sure what to hope for at this point but I may ask if they can drive it home and back a few days to be sure it doesn't resurface right away at least.

I have a feeling I will be waiting for a new ecu but I won't know for sure until tomorrow. What a birthday gift that will be

Parts will be there Friday, possibly Saturday. They think they can have it done by COB Friday. Let's hope it fixes the issue. I am getting a new Variable Valve gear (VVT?) and an ECU.

So I got the call at 7:30 this morning to come pick up the car. Car was in the shop for 11 business days including today. The only work performed was for the FSE to reflash the PCM and test drive. No parts were replaced. So far so good but I only drove it from the dealer to work today. I will be watching it like a hawk and we will see what happens. The idle seems rock solid so far. I'm pretty pissed that the car was kept outside for the duration of the time at the dealer and came back to me totally filthy. This is the dirtiest the car has been since I've owned it. They put approx. 21 miles on it.

^****s.. They should have cleaned it. Thanks for all this info guys! I'm about to be picking up an FR-s in the coming weeks, and I spoke to my buddy who is a mercedes sales manager, but has ties with toyota, and says when I'm ready to pick up an FR-S, that the problem should be resolved, and that they are aware of the issue. Fairfield Toyota I believe.

I just have to throw kudos out to eurospeed for maintaining this thread. Fantastic work. Should also start an official list of TSB numbers for our cars.

There might be a promise somewhere in their not-so-fine print to wash the car when it's in for service. It might be worth it to find that and request a wash. I've had other dealers do that to me (starts with 'B'...); it's incredibly annoying.
