So many critical people on this forum. OP never asked for your opinion on why he wanted to sale it, just what he could get for it.

OP if you can find someone that wants it you'll do fine. Selling to dealership/carmax you're gonna take a pretty big hit.

If you get the whiteout and sell the firestorm, won't be long before you're missing the firestorm. The only solution is to own both

You're gonna take a bath selling it, then you have to buy the next car, pay tax and the extra cost on the white paint. That's just plain stoopid.

How much do you owe? If there are still wait lists in your area, then chances are probably pretty good that you can find someone who'll give you close to what you owe and/or close to what dealers are asking. However, as others have pointed out, you'll still pay taxes, registration etc all over again. In the end it comes down to whether the incremental enjoyment of your new favourite colour is greater than the extra cost of switching (and whether you can afford it). It's not stupid (or stoopid) if the answer to both is yes.

Just remember, if you can't afford to trade it in, sell it, etc, just be thankful for it. Next time you drive it, enjoy it a little extra for me! (college student, no money, an FRS/BRZ seems about as far away and unaffordable to me as a Pagani Zonda)

Maybe you're not looking for this kind of opinion... But I'd post your Firestorm FR-S up for a local trade + some cash with another Whiteout FR-S owner, depending upon the mileage / condition of each of your vehicles (within your regional forum section).

If it doesn't work out, then I would just sit tight with the color you chose, and perhaps plan / consider trading up for a 2014+ model year Whiteout FR-S (and cancel the extended warranty on your current car if this is what you decide).

Even though I own a Firestorm, I honestly don't think it's an inferior color by any means... If anything, I feel it's the signature color for the FR-S / GT 86, but that's just my own opinion... So take it with a grain of salt.

No matter what, each color has its own advantages and disadvantages according to the eye of the beholder.

Don't forget to request an edit for your username if the change works out for you.

Sorry, I don't mean to preach to you... I'll give way to your very own decision.

Good luck, partner.

Firestorm looks great on the car and is the only non-metallic/pearl paint in the line up. Many enthusiasts and purists prefer this. With that said, I wouldnt want a red daily.
