Thanks, it was R6500 fitted including the R500 rip off iPod video cable.
No GPS, that would have been an extra R6000.

I must be honest, there are JVC and Sony models which are MUCH nicer in terms of features, etc at the same price but they all look too "flashy" for my liking and fiddling with on screen or tiny push button volume controls isn't for me.

Yep, I also thought it was madness but they're even expensive on eBay. They've told me that if you really do want GPS you you're better off buying a radio that's already got it.

They're all the same size, the only ones that would fit without spacers are the OEM Toyota or Chinese radios.

I use Tomtom with HD traffic on my phone so even if the radio did have GPS, I wouldn't use it. You can connect your phone to the radio and display Waze(GPS app) on the LCD if that helps? I'm hoping Tomton will start supporting this as well soon.

i was checking out the new radio from parrot (http://www.parrot.com/fr/produits/ga...asteroid-smart) it's in french but the specs are understandable. it will apparently go for sale in the US next month for $599. If it fits, it would be a good deal i reckon, and the looks aren't too flashy or cheap.
As per usual though, who who when it will be available here and at what price...

ps: perhaps move to new thread?

Hey sieglapj,

Sorry for the delay. My workshop manager says just make sure its a Toyota approved shop. Like Motor1. If Toyota finds any wiring cut for example, that's not supposed to be, they could make it an issue. But to answer your q. If its done by an approved shop, it won't void the warranty.

@ZakD....I know it a bit late...can you find out from your workshop manager about installing coilovers?

I am fine with Toyota no longer covering suspension under warranty but to cancel warranty for installing coilovers is overkill.

Thanks, the "good" shops such as Rivonia or Sandton Sound & Security don't cut any wires, they use plug & play wiring kits, so there shouldn't be any problems.

Hey guys,

I found this while looking around on the forum. Might come in handy one day if you ever wanted some extra info on your car. I'm not able to download it at work so cannot vouch for how good it is... but thought I'd share it anyway.
