Bluebatmobile tail overlays

So on my first shot of applying these I managed to do a good job with the dreaded curves but I ended up messing up the top flat part of the lamps. I contacted Andy (bluebat) and we worked out a deal for a replacement set of overlays.

Got them the other day and applied them today with...some more experience. I'm very happy with the results. For $43 I really can't think of a better way to modify your BRZ/FRS. Andy was really awesome to work with and he even gave me his cell so we could keep in touch better. How many vendors would do that?

The overlays were applied with soapy water so there is still slight visible residue below the film just like when you have your car tinted. Waiting for it to dry out before I actually pull out a real camera for pictures, until then I got a reason to play with my new iPhone.

What do you think guys?

i like it! those were the same kind i was thinking of getting with the blinker cutouts.

can you post some pics with the lights on? i'd like to see if the individual lights are distinctive or if the vinyl blends the output.

looks really good ... did you use the 1-piece or 2-piece kit? I am inclined to do the 2-piece if it's easier and more forgiving.

The first time around, yes. This time, no the tails stayed on. As long as you have a nice clean work place it's easier with the tails on. Otherwise you'll just be fumbling with them trying to hold them properly and they are pretty awkwardly shaped.

They are still distinctive, not quite the same as before but I'd say about 90-95% the same. I tried taking pictures with my phone when we went out for dinner but it's difficult to get the focus just right so I included a picture of my DRL for comparison.

It's a 1-piece kit. There's a small stress release cut on the top outside corner of the tails but it's virtually unnoticeable. You could do it without it but it's up to you to decide if it's worth the time/effort.

Thank you for taking that one. It is indeed a 5axis. The purchase itself is a whole different story but damn do I love this spoiler. I think with the exhaust tips, spoiler, and tail overlays I've pretty much completed the look for the rear end. Maybe a rear diffuser in the foreseeable future
