The question now becomes what's more effective on this chassis, springs or shocks? We all know a front bar is needed to calm down the "ass happiness". Then you can really see what makes more sense, RTR or STX.

You'll need the front bar either way thanks to the limited droop in the rear to keep that torsen working and get some exit traction.

A few points.
I'm glad they made some springs the way they did. However, we have yet to work together and I do all my own suspension tuning and setup work. I don't outsource that, never have. While I am interested in their springs as an option I've not heard back past the PM. And I want to make it clear I sell my own product, do my own KW setups, carry other brands too. Working with Koni (my stock stuff is in KY right now in fact). I've recently picked up MCS on the high end. Etc. I'm just asking you all rememberi do my own thing, and I'm good at it. ![]() Dampers and springs do different job, bars too. Not a matter of saying I have good springs so I don't want good dampers. They work together to be sure. Personally I always upgrade dampers first or at the same time as springs because they make such a big difference dynamically. Roll rate, pitch rate are reduced. You can effect turn in response and stability.... and make the thing ride better too.

Unfortunately with the BRZ/FR-S we have no historical data on what is going to work best. I did post up some stock shock dyno charts a little while back here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16810 I think dampers will play a big role in the overall performance of the car on a variety of surfaces. If you are doing STX where you can change both, you really need to change both and I think coilovers are the best option. |

I'm trying to keep cost down so STX is still at least another season away. Im looking to buy my first place so Stock class will be it for me in 2013 I think, unless I get some really generous sponsors of course
shocks, track pipe, Sam's bar and a set if the new Star Specs are my only planned mods for now.

By track pipe you mean a turn down? I want to but the noise on my daily drive makes me question that

Just a bit, nothing like you might think. I daily drive mine everyday on the highway and would rip it out if it was bad. Remember the stock resonator is still there and a lot of pipe.

So you just have straight (well, bends but you know what I mean) pipe after the cat correct?

look for Mach V's clips, mine sounds just like their's though I have the nameless. Yes the empty bumper hole bugged me so much I bought an axleback from Strano but we are way off topic.
