HELP:Q about springs
Okay so which springs can make my car the lowest possible without "camber" or whatever it's called.
I'm not exactly in the market for coil overs yet and i want my car as low as possible. So it would be a lot of help if someone could link me to some springs that would make my car that low. Or how much in inches drop do i need to achieve that would be cool as well. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE <3 i searched "lowest springs" etc. nothing useful came up so dont rage on me please. |

This link (also the very first sticky thread in this forum!) will list the various options with the amount of lowering the manufacturer advertises it at: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8739
Because of the design of the rear suspension, you will get more negative camber by lowering the car, period. The lower you go, the more it will increase. The front won't change much at all by lowering. You can get some kits to help remove that negative camber in the back, but people tend to want more (within reason) up front. Currently the biggest drop from a lowering spring would be the Eibach Sportlines with 1.4" of drop. Are you sure you really want to go crazy low?

Do Sportlines if you really really want to increase your chances of scraping your front lip. :p
I'm on 0.6" drop with aftermarket lip and already scrape off my driveway and places in town I go everyday... and the flat prairie-land where I live is nothing compared to places I used to live in California! Edit: I see you're in STL. Well, I would recommend 20mm drop... the Pro-Kit is just a bit lower than that at 25mm. According to a PM convo I had with Chief Engineer Tada, the suspension (arms, roll center, etc.) are optimized for 20mm +/-5mm lower than stock. Anything lower would be detrimental for handling but if you prefer lower, hey, it's your car. I'd feel more confident running Sportlines once aftermarket lowering shocks come out to accomodate them.

If the answer to both of these is no i would suggest the Pro-Kit or something similar. The Sportline is going to give you a lot of rear camber if you don't get something to adjust it with which i don't think you want to do from your previous posts. |

What's your actual goals with the car? What do you use the car for? What things are unacceptable to you as a result of modifying the vehicle?

I would drive it for a few months and then decide, I really would say the Pro-Kit would be better for a teenager or no lowering at all. Just be careful either way you go, watch for curbs and bumps and don't turn off the traction control!

As of goals i plan to get all my bolt ons, HID kit, lower it, and then new wheels. And then im done. Unacceptable would be like a camber kit or something, it just doesnt fit the personality of the car in my opinion. http://www.stancenation.com/wp-conte...331-204607.jpg ^ looks awesome! but it's just not for me |
