My 540miles fr-s m/t is not experiencing this issue. Just wondering if those with idle problems have automatic transmission or is this issue reported on both transmissions??

Have I been in the shop the longest? This is 5.5 weeks now. I can't even remember what it feels like to drive the car.
I'm about to give up.

The more I read your post the angrier I become. You getting F#€KED over pretty bad by Toyota/Scion.

1) Toyota has no business delivering a single new FR-S to a dealer for a new customer until those of us waiting for parts are taken care of. Especally you. Your paitence with this situation is astounding. I lost it at three weeks, five weeks? Holy crap...

2) I would call Clayton on Monday, speak to him and them ask to speak to his supervisor and get them to put in writing to you (an email, letter, something) what their plan is to get you your ECU next week. Ask them about getting the part from a car being delivered, paying for the part from a Subaru dealer, start thinking out of the box. If you don't get an answer that satasfies you, mail out the Lemon Law paper work the same day. After five weeks Toyota has earned the privilege of eating the cost on your $26,000 FR-S and getting you a brand new car.

Be respectful, be courteous, be aggressive. Don't be a doormat to a multi-billion dollar company.

I think back to when this first started and getting lied to by the dealer. The sales guy made it clear that the Sales manager was trying to get me a new car. After a few days I talked to the sales manager directly, no case had been started and he said he can't just give me another car without Scion's approval. I started a case and Scion rep said they don't give dealers permission to replace cars. How am I supposed to be happy with service like that. Then every step of the process about when parts were to arrive, when the car would be ready, etc, have been wrong. Scion rep hasn't really helped much at all. Just recyling bad information. It's almost like a challenge to see if I'll ever get this car back.

Deliver new cars to the lots for sale, or use the parts the satisfy customers who have already purchased the vehicle. One of these generates revenue, one generates costs. I can see pretty quickly why they would opt to ensure new vehicle delivery stays on track.

Like I don't get why anybody in this thread still holds onto the premise that Scion / Toyota care about customer satisfaction. They don't. They've proven this multiple times.

Wow just went through 16 pages so far and I'm worried. Should I wait for mine to go wrong or just go to the dealer, show this thread and request/beg replacement parts? *confused.
God knows what other parts get affected after this issue kicks in that they don't replace and waiting to break down...
I will get a fire extinguisher asap.

Don't worry about begging for parts, there not enought of them going around, besides, some of this stuff costs a fortune. The cam gears are $1600 a piece. An ECU will set you back $3000.

If you happen to be a member of our super exclusive club then it sucks, a lot. But there's only a very small persantage of us affected so don't let it bother you until something goes bad.

ETA on my ECU is on the 18th this month. It was originally November 1 but I guess it got bumped. Hopefully Toyota comes through and don't disappoint me. My cars only been at the dealership for 9 days and I'm already feelin shiit. I'm gonna go to them tomorrow to see if I can see whats been happening
