S32Z-T ...ohhh shheeet

just in time for the relaunch of Datsun brand in 3rd world countries.

I hope if Nissan does sell a 80th commemoration of the car in the US, it will be tagged Fairlady under the Datsun insignia, So it can separate itself from the evolution resulting in the 370z DNA.

Interesting. Well, I think we could expect a new sports car from them anyway. The 350Z/370Z has been going for 10 years now and the 370Z revamp for 4. But I kind of doubt I would want it more than the FR-S. Even though I love all Japanese sports cars, I've never really seen/understood what's so special about the Nissans. But competition to the FR-S/BRZ and more affordable sports cars is exactly what I want to see.

Honda need to get into this, I keep saying they should have a RWD civic, or just call it another name. This would sell so well, and put them back in the cool court.

Amen! There's rumour of a follow-on to the s2k, which would be great, but they need to make a coupe version as well.

i wouldn't get your hopes up. in america, the original Z was the 240Z while the current Z is the 370Z. they have different names. thus, when you say "they're gonna make a new 240Z" it sounds like they're gonna make something more similar to the original.

HOWEVER in japan the 240, the 300ZX, the 350 and 370 are ALL known as the Fairlady Z. they all have the same name. to nissan japan the current 370Z already IS the modern 240Z. so this probably just means Nissan is planning to release the 370Z replacement for their 80 year anniversary. design wise it might be closer to the original but i kinda doubt it's gonna be that lightweight or displace 2.4 liters.

Nailed it. Did any of you even watch the video? At no point was a new model explicitly mentioned. Hell, did no one notice that their "evolutionary" pictures went from the 240 to the 370? They are just saying that a revision or evolution of the Z car is underway.

It makes more sense for Nissan to work with a platform they currenlty have than to create a new one from scrtach. Remember the exchange rates aren't very favorable for the Japanese and there's that little thing called the global recession...
