I asked about compensation about one week in, they didn't want to agree to anything until it was resolved. Still in shop for almost 5 weeks now, Clayton wants to talk compensation now. I'll take his advice and wait until after I get my car back. I would hav ebeen happy with less 3.5 weeks ago, now I expect more. Once it is all complete, I'll make my request.

Just called the local dealership where I left the car. So I dropped it off on Saturday afternoon and today when I called them about 15min ago, they said that they don't see me in their system? That they don't have a FRS at the shop. I was like WTf, are you sure? He said yeah. So he's going to do research and get back to me. Wtf? I would be there in a heartbeat if I wasn't at work. Wish me luck.

I got a call from Bill of SOA after I picked up my car yesterday from dealer (18 days in the dealer). p0019 cam sensor.... I drove about 50 miles and so far so good.

He offered me extended warranty for the car and I accepted it.

My car has the same code. Did they just reflash the ECU and send you on your way or did they also replace the VVT cam sprocket, etc?

I dropped mine off at the dealer yesterday and they said they're just going to reflash it. I'm not fully convinced that a simple reflash will fix the issue...

Also, I don't mean to thread jack but basically my car payment is due on the 7th. If I don't have my vehicle back by then, do you guys think it's reasonable for me to demand that they dish out for this month's payment?

I got my car back last wednesday. Only an ECU flash. Seems to have fixed the problem. The idle isn't perfect, but it's close.

I brought my car yesterday to get the Crickets fixed. Those parts will be here in 5-7 days. They say it's fine to drive till then.

Just got off the phone with Scion of America. In total, my car was in the shop for 3 weeks. I am getting a month's payment paid for, and a 8 year/125K mile Toyota Platinum warranty. I think it's fair so I'm happy with that.

Wow you guys are really sticking it to them. I have the idle issue and the crickets, but I have not taken my car in. The idle issue does not cause the car to stall, just annoying.

The idle issue doesnt bother u? Whenever it happens, both slip and engine light went on. When the slip light is on, the computer puts the car on safe mode. You dont get much power from the engine. However the slip light always goes away before the CEL so you will feel your car is back to normal.

I think eventually, you want to get this issue fixed. Hopefully before warrenty expires.

OOOO do you mind if I use this photo and take it to my dealer? I'm skeptical that a replacement ECU won't fix the problem, so maybe this will help convince them otherwise.

it's not going to help .. they will need to follow the flowchart which includes swapping cam sprockets, sensors, etc.. fwiw, I think they are also changing the oil.. I didn't have a window sticker going into the dealer, but now I do..

I was offered 1 payment and Platinum Warranty.

I had asked for either the 5 axis kit or Fog Lights but they said they could not do the kit since it was an optimize part and they still had no ETA on fog lights.

I am having the crickets fixed as well which was pretty amusing because when I first brought it up my rep had no idea what I was talking about put me and hold and came back and said they just announced that (Last Thursday).

My main concern was getting my car back on the road with no problems. In my eyes depending how long your car is in the shop the Extended Warranty and a payment is the least they can do.
