2 - I have spoken to the Toyota dealer and the Scion Rep almost exclusively on my work phone here at Riva Motorsports, and we record ALL phone conversations.
1 - Here's the problem with that. The first customer service rep I talked to at GM said that they would buy my car back. Later found out that she had no authority to get my car bought back. She should have never said a thing. The point is, if a customer service rep told you he/she was going to do something, might as well throw that out the window. They have no authority to authorize something that you discussed with that person unless someone from higher up gave him authorization. It sucks, but that's what happened to me. I had 2-3 customer service reps tell me that they would get GM to buy my car back... it never happened. They did not have the authority. Better yet, I went higher up, and that still got me nothing. I ended up having to go through the BBB and still no luck. Therefore, I finally cut my losses and traded it in.

2 - Refer to post 1. If it's a normal customer service rep, I wouldn't bother holding your breath regardless of the recordings. I tried that as well and was unsuccessful. But who knows, perhaps you'll have better luck than me.

I certainly am not ready to give in yet. And again, I am definately within the Lemon Law requirements in Florida to follow that avenue....should it get to that point.

They may increment the ECU part number with the firmware version it ships with.

Has the age of the cars affected the CEL outcome at all? Meaning, have the people who have purchased ones that have been built more recently had less CEL/SLs than the early purchasers?

First page of this thread will give you that information. Look at the last 4 numbers of the VIN.

Update: Dropped the car off today and got a loaner. The same Subaru Tech Specialist that did the reflash is coming tomorrow to look at it. There was a mechanic looking at it when I went to grab my stuff and he said he couldn't say what was wrong but that something was definitely wrong. Still no check engine light though. I called corporate to complain and got assigned a rep named Jennifer who said they can't talk compensation until they know what the problem is. I said at this point the only resolution is a new car because I have no idea what damage could've occurred last night and I don't want it on record that the car had the engine replaced at 900 miles because I'll never be able to sell it if I need to.

Well I'm waiting, but that's just me. I already own fun sporty cars with issues, so I'm going to just enjoy those for a while longer and postpone the 86 until it's past the growing pains.

Yea, I really don't understand this. I'm at 6024xx.... The other BRZs that have been listed are after that. However, my car came in in September, yet it was manufactured 06/12. I'm a bit confused how sajonf's theory is suppose to work

FR-S and BRZ should be separated on the list so it is easier to track the respective VINs
