Alright so I'm watching Champione like a bunch of people are suggesting and in episode 5 (the one where he buys the brunette the cellphone) he gets a random call from some blonde haired guy where they play it off as if we know the guy from before....

did I miss something or was that scene full of wtf?

Don't worry, they skipped crap load of stuff/info from light novel. In 2nd or 3rd Epi where he come back to Japan, he said after all those crazy God killing stuff, he had to fight another God Killer... which was that blonde dude.

Alright I've had enough of this. I'm not even gonna finish watching Champione. There's way to many inconsistencies with the series.... plus this story is pretty weak and for such a great concept doesn't do it justice.

if anyone whose watched it and thought it was good I'm gonna point you in the direction of: Demon King Daimao same type of story but done a lot better.

cheers.

Yeah, Campione is love or hate series. Light Novel is a lot better imo

Demon King Daimao? "Daimao" means "Demon King" in Japanese... so Demon King Demon King?

Google for a while...

Oh~~~~~ Ichiban ushiro no Daimao. Hm... I felt like that's more of Queen's Blade, High School DxD, Makenki genre

My favorite anime is Welcome to the NHK. I thought it was hilarious and kind of depressing. I actually enjoyed the English dubbed version more. It was well done. I just love Chris Patton as Sato in this!

I like, usually, more realistic animes with minimal fantasy elements. There are some exceptions here though(Death Note and a few others). Monster is definitely one of my favorites

I know what you mean, it is more a long the lines of High School DxD, but it does the whole Demon King aspect a lot better. Plus a proper epic battle scene to end the series. and I agree Campione really is a hit or miss series. As a harem I guess it's alright. But as a Action/Sci-fi/fantasy series it falls flat on its back. just MHO tho.

like come on - what happened to the epic gigantic God's of the first couple episodes?...

But it doesn't matter anymore, because for my day off I'm gonna give Ozuma a shot and see if its any better. I know different genre, but first episode was good.

If you haven't already seen it, I would recommend Yomigaeru Sora, it's about a JSDF SAR team and pretty grounded in reality while still being engaging. One of my favorites.

I think I say this in every anime thread on every forum I've been on.

Everyone should watch Grave of the Fireflies. But be prepared that it's probably one of the most depressing things you'll see.

Anyone have some more suggestions for me? Generally more realistic animes with a good thriller/mystery aspect. Some elements of fantasy are good though.

Some anime I liked: Phantom: Requiem for a Phantom, Eden of the East, Death Note, Monster, Welcome to the NHK

I'm fairly picky and usually watch the first 2 or 3 to see if I like it. Most end there for me.

I watched Another online earlier this year. It was pretty good with fantasy elements.

thats one of the first anime i can ever remember watching... it completely changed my outlook on animation and cartoons, that animation can be grown up.
