Seriously, I'm an animal lover, but deer are a major PITA on roads throughout the US...it's like they are drawn to moving objects, dumbasses...

Glad you're okay OP! Honestly that damage is nothing compared to what most people get. I thought you lightly tapped a wall or something....very surprised the airbags went off.

You can in New England! If you hit a deer on the road and it dies and doesn't run away, you are allowed to take it home. I know guys around here (Especially up in New Hampshire and Vermont) who have bull bars on the front of their pickup trucks for this expressed purpose, and they tend to accelerate when they see a deer, not slow down. It's kinda freaky...
