Hey everyone! Already made a few posts, just saw this thread and thought I'd join in. I am so glad somebody's making a car like this again - simple, rwd, lightweight, nimble, affordable. I was about to put down a deposit and get on a wait list but then noticed all the major hassles people are having with CEL etc, and now I'm wondering if I'd rather wait til they work out the kinks.

Hello everyone.
Name's Steve. I have a 240SX track car (sub-2250lbs) and otherwise share a Mini Countryman S, Jeep Wrangler and '95 Range Rover Classic with my wife. The 240's still "street legal" but if I get pulled over, it's likely game over. Torn between a few cars, don't like new cars and the hit of depreciation but all the other cars I'm interested in are either from the mid-2000s and I cannot get a loan for them, or are classics and require a lot of work to turn into a reliable daily driver my wife will ride in. The FR-S/BRZ are literally the only new cars I'm interested in; the rest are bland and/or too heavy. Looking forward to contributing to the community if I get an FR-S. |

I've been lurking for months and finally made an account to join the fun.
My driver's school car was an old Corolla GTS Hatchback - at the time I was young/clueless and just enjoyed the car for the several months I got to use it. I bought an Olds Alero as my "first car" for practicality and have grown a deeper appreciation for cars as I've aged and started a family. I ran across the anime series Initial D and realized that the car he drives happens to be my original learning car; this discovery led me to research the car's culture. Now that I have read up on it I now see why I had so much fun - and wonder how I survived while learning to drive that thing in the middle of heavy winter snow! The Alero is a good vehicle but we need a second car for the family as sharing one car is starting to become less practical. I was looking at something to get back to those great experiences during my early days learning to drive. Jay Leno's review of the 86 put it pretty well - this is a car for the 'dads' out there who want something fun without destroying the family budget! Now - if only I could find a dealership with one to test drive! Rob in Tampa |

Sup guys. Been thinkin' about picking up a BRZ or an FRS as of lately. Currently own and drive a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart. It's fun to drive, awd and turbo'd, grippy as f*, but I'm not too sure about the SST tranny, so wanna go a different route. Also wanna save a little more $ on gas. Looking to get info on this awesome ride.

Hello, my name is Jason. I am from Ontario, Canada. I currently drive a 2003 Honda Civic Coupe with a 5 speed manual. It is a great car. It never lets me down and is very dependable. I am currently 16 years old and looking forward to purchase a 2013 Scion FR-S next year. I hope to become part of the FT86 club family.
