Launching this car takes some serious skill, especially with the stock tires. I went out last night when there was a slight haze of moisture (w/ hankook 245 tires) and couldn't get a good launch. I was amazingly consistent with the 3 0-60 runs I did though lol. What does everybody try to launch at? I was doing the standard 4500 then 4000rpm.

You guys beat me with the BTTF references.. One of my favorite movies of all time!

Yea it does..before my car used to launch so easy...ever since john updated and it feels like the power is down low..my tires cant handle the extra power and it just spins excessively...i will say this about our cars tho, theres is no wheel hop at all which i think is awesome. even launching past 5000rpm that car has no hop at all it just has sucky tires. what were your 0-60 times? i think with just the tune and flat foot and launch control, at the track this car can put down a quater mile in 14.5 secs stock or better

I forget what review I was reading, but people were talking about launching in the 6,000 RPM range...yes this was a professional review. They were also talking about how impossible it was to get a good launch on the stock tires cause of spin..but they seemed to be dumping all of the Tq at once at that RPM level (they still got better than Toyota offical times of course)

I'm not on a tune atm, (waiting on package) but for autocross on 245 wide rs3 I launch at 3500 and it still spins the wheels, just not as hard. Only a couple feet.

by the way im running 93 guys and im from the boogie down Bronx,NY. Not sure what sealevel is over here. These tires cannot hold grip and better tires is a must if your going to add power imo.. a little spin is fine but if u look at my video my tires do not hold up at all. I did increase my tirepressure a little because my tpms kept coming on.

Damn you Visconti!! I got pulled over by the highway patrol today. My first ticket ever. When he asked if I knew why I just shrugged my shoulders. He proceeded to tell me that when I shifted into 2nd gear, I spun the tires. Yup, no speeding. My ticket says spinning tires. He also told me to just take it in to the court house and they might drop it or just pay a small fine, but don't notify the insurance company. And he put in a good word that I was cooperative. That would help in my case. haha Too funny. It's a ticket, but I'm not stressed over it. Just thought I'd share. I should of just told him "I gotta poop!"
