NOTE: Color temperature is relative, when compared against a higher color temp. the initial will always be more red and against lower, more blue. The question is how much of the road can be seen with it. (45:27) forum disregards timing info. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ab0czJ6_OF8&t=45m27s"]Lec 29 | MIT 8.02 Electricity and Magnetism, Spring 2002 - YouTube[/ame] As far as running lights, HIDs are going to permanently blind oncoming traffic when unshielded, there is not much difference between an HID bulb and arc welding hence they are rarely installed without a projector. In addition, most systems are not designed to reduce output so it would in effect be equivalent to constantly driving with ~3 high beams. In case high beam brightness is not of concern (read disclaimer), 7-10W LED bulbs can provide similar functionality as well as matched color temperature. Last edited by CMOS; 09-30-2012 at 03:28 PM.
