I dont mind twin exit as long as they are equal and one isnt just legged off the other.

I'd prefer single exit though.......

LOL

That would suck to have a Scion brake light, there goes easy badge swap.

Aftermarket companies will have a dual exhaust.

I'd like to make my own, do a 2" diameter true dual with 2" x-pipe and 2 mufflers. Everything would be 2" diameter and each muffler would be 2" inlet&outlet/5" round body/2.5" tip. Like a motorcycle.

I'd like the dual exhausts if it were truly dual exhausts. If it goes from two pipes, to one pipe, and back to two you might as well just keep it one. However, if they're running two pipes all the way back...keep the dual exits!

I'm pretty sure, based on everything we've seen so far, its a single pipe to a single muffler with dual outlets, very similar to the Z.

I imagine there will be true dual offerings via aftermarket but that's somewhat counter-productive to the light weight concept... although I personally would be willing to deal with any moderate increases in weight in exchange for slightly improved performance and better sound. Then again, my car probably won't see a track very often.

Yep that's the way it goes. Toyota drops a little nugget of knowledge, the forum blows up for a couple weeks, and then it slowly dies down until just the hardcore members are left trying to derail every thread into OT.

If anything if you really are against twin exit, you should hope that they DO put that on the production model. At least then you can stand out with your single exit and not look like us tossers.

Header to exhaust is true dual. I think your cat to exhaust example is referring to a y-pipe setup where the headers combine into 1 pipe and split after the cat and before the muffler(s).

Hm... if that's the case, then isn't that add more weight to the car? Also two separate cat equal to two extra o2 sensors (before cat & after cat)... which means more ecu crap. Also add to that, isn't it gonna cost more for after market parts?

OR

They sell most of the components to build your own muffler if you want to make it similar to a bike. It'll be beyond loud though...

Im with Ichi on this one. A single exhaust will probably be an all around better option for this car. Except for the personal aesthetic opinions but to those I say: Function > Form (within reason of course)
