I happened to notice an add for this company on the back cover of my current issue of Hemmings Sports and Exotics:

www.startron.com

The headline of the add says:

"Cures and Prevents ETHANOL Fuel Problems"

With "ethanol" being the largest type on the page.

Their tag line at the bottom of the page reads "It's not the engine, it's the fuel!"

"
Ethanol / E10 fuels increase the amounts of water and sludge in your fuel tank.
Star Tron breaks down this excess water and sludge to sub-micron size allowing it to be safely burned away during normal engine operation.
Therefore Star Tron prevents phase separation and fuel gelling, eliminating ethanol fuel problems."

I don't know if that is what we're after...

I just ordered a muffler delete pipe. Hopefully the extra sound drowns out the crickets a little :P

So an interesting note. I'm just past 1100mi and have had the chirping noise since just after the first tank of gas I put in (local 76 station). Most recent tank of gas was at a Shell and the noise has reduced considerably, though there is still a mild tapping sound still present. Planning on running gas from this station for the next few tanks as well to see how it goes.

FYI, BRZ is 2 weeks old. Majority of time spent on the highway with about 30% on local streets.

So Toyota/Scion came through with a TSB, but the part number is the same. I hope they redesigned the thing. Now I wait until Subaru does their TSB as well.

I'm not waiting. My CSR is getting a call bright and early tomorrow regarding this TSB. I want to be done with my laundry list so I can try to move on and just enjoy the car.

Those parts are doing to my dealer. Tomorrow. Expedited.

If my CSR is as good as I hope she is, she already has the parts on the way, because everybody was actually planning for this one and working togeth--oh, who am I kidding...

Good luck
Just the other day the dealer was still trying to feed me BS about this being normal, and the SOA rep I called was trying to weasel out of talking to me, saying that another rep that is already handling my case (which I suspect has a lot more to do with tapping noise from the rear deck) is gonna call me.

I just hope that Subaru is aware that Scion/Toyota are aware
I bet it take Subaru another two weeks at least to come-up with their own TSB.
