I broke mine in like every new engine I break in. For the first 500 miles kept id under 4000rpms and no full throttle. After 500 miles a few WOT runs very briefly to put some pressure on the rings and seat them into the cylinder walls.

Just got a call from the service department that my parts arrived INCLUDING an ECU (he called it an EGM), so let's see how this goes.

SO my CEL and TC light went off for the 3rd time. Took it in the dealership again and they mentioned that it's alright to drive around as they are just waiting for the computer. Mileage on third incident is 2868. Both lights turned off again at 2880. I followed proper break-in procedures and have never pushed it to redline.

Update: Same status as yesterday. Code had come back before I ever go the car back from the dealer. Dealer is still waiting on the data to be analyzed by Toyota. Same thing they told me yesterday. How long does it take?
Still no ECU on order.
It's turning into a comedy.

The car is in the service bay and the intake cam gear has been installed. During the installation 4 O-rings were discovered which weren't on the original parts order so now I'm waiting on those. If everything goes well i'll get my car back Monday.

Darren from SOA called me today and spoke to my dealership. I am now having to be placed in a rental. NO ETA on the ECU. It goes on a first come, first served basis. Those down longer will get the ECU.

Would be interesting if one if the Ecutek tuners like Visconti could pull the new ROM and see what is different from the old one. May not be something Ecutek even looks at but maybe other things have changed as well.

The FA20 is a little different but Subaru has been using similar AVCS systems for over 10 years now without too many issues.

I was at 70 miles, 210, and then a few others between 500ish and drove it like I have payments on it. Never dumped clutch, only chirp was from engine not wheels, and shifted within 4k rpms as that was where it felt smoothest to shift while babying my brand new car.

now I drive a 2011 forester loaner...not as nice to this car eta for parts (cam sprockets) 10/6....joy

What was your code? The dealer got their orders from Toyota the same day I brought it in.
