Well, the MSR/ZOK move was cancelled. The 370Z can also be fast.

if the 2014MY comes with wider stock wheels, will that allow the current models to go up in wheel size too and still remain in stock class?

Nope. You have to get a 2014 to be legal by the letter of the law...

Does anyone have a link to a reputable source for the wider wheel in the 2014 model?
I wish they would do it, but it is all hearsay unless I see something from Subaru/Scion. |

It's part of the commitment necessary to keep the sport cheap... pay with your time or pay with your wallet. This sport is designed for those with more time than deeper wallets.

i know it's hard to compare, but two years ago we switched over to paid marshals in our time-attack series and netted an extra 1-1.5 hours of track time for our competitors, not to mention the now free time between groups to work on cars or just take a mental break. but i'm not trying to argue, i'm just saying that some people, at times, can have legitimate reasons for not wanting to stand out in the field but have to at the threat of being disqualified.

I've said it in other threads but I really don't see Subaru moving to a wider wheel for 2014.

True but the SCCA says they want to make the sport more accessible and thereby one of the biggest obstacles is cost of course. So they want more entry fees and memberships and certainly lowering costs couldn't hurt that in the long run. It's just a question of how to implement it.

I agree, I can't see them going to a wider wheel unless they also add more power to the car, either the basic BRZ or if they release an STi version. Wider wheel means wider tire, which means more rolling resistance and lower mpg ratings.
