I'm hoping there's an allocation in your near future, too! Mine was a mystery to me until yesterday.

We are all frustrated at the Toyota system! All I was trying to get across is regardless of the location of the Dealership, to say 'he's a small country dealer so let him have one now for his customer', well that's fine but not if that customer 'jumps the queue' of those who ordered many months prior!

I was happy to put up with it until 'green comet' made his post, he ordered his after me in July, I've been pushed back from October to November to December and still not confirmed while his is in production now and for delivery October - his good luck!! Now compare his to a lady at my work who also ordered hers same time as him, still being told 'it could be 18 months or more!' Now that's totally unfair!

And for those who think the huge city Dealers are getting the stock, hmmm .. totally wrong!

These are my comments and NOT intended to offend anyone at all!! We are all 'in the same boat' womdering what the hell Toyota's methodology is!

PASS ME THE RUBICS CUBE PLEASE!!

Dont want to get in the middle of a good argument, but maybe Green comet got lucky and had someone at his dealership cancel their order with the same spec as his.

BTW I agree FIFO seems the only fair way to go.

No argument, my stock number starts with 5865 and his starts with 5866, both ordered early July, so would not appear to be a cancellation, also lady working with me, hers starts also with 5866 and ordered a few days after mine and told still 18 months or more! For his to make it thru to production is more confusing than that Rubic's Cube!

Agree totally, FIFO regardless, I always thought 'service' was about the customer!

It may be of interest while city Dealers are hunting the 86, country Dealers are hunting the SR5, so I know Dealers are swapping, not hard to work out why! Small Country Dealer gets an 86 but his market is the SR5

BTW, my order is also for 'Velocity Orange' and still to see that, silver and blue in the 'flesh'

Thanks guys and gals!

Just FYI, I actually said that my car has been confirmed for November production, and that I'll hopefully be getting it in later December.

I wouldn't say I was lucky, I did alot of homework before I ordered the car. I rang over a dozen dealerships to find out order quantities, when Shepparton Toyota told me they only had 2 orders in line I made left a deposit.

Possibly a stupid question but where does one find their stock number?

Sorry, my mistake! Then again, who would know to have done that? I do know people who have walked in a found a cancellation then stepped in and driven away! I was offered a 'tornado grey' but said no, so in fact I could have been set by now but ready for the LOOOOOOONG wait!

I would say that 99 out of every 100 who have placed an order would not have been aware of the methodology Toyota uses. I guess I feel sorry for the customers of one Dealership in Brisbane who supposedly took 90 orders in the first FOUR days! Where the hell would you be in their queue?
