And his last picture is a power curve showing 155 BHP with no comment. Oh, I forgot he referred to the engine as limp wristed earlier on. If I had read Sanjeev Mehta's review earlier I swear I'd have never bought the car, because his opinions means so much to me. After all he is a Mercury-phile!

Seriously, he is entitled to his opinion. I'd review any Mazda product similarly just because I dislike Mazda.

I think TTAC has now earned a reputation as anti-FRS/BRZ...
Which is only partially true, as a couple other reviewers seem to have posted positive reviews.
In fact, the guy who did this exterior review mentions there are parts of the car he absolutely loves (note, this is only a critique of the exterior design, not driving dynamics at all - so he probably should not have thrown in the dyno chart to feed the anti-FRS cadre of commenters)

FWIW, I kinda agree that the rear lights could've been nicer...
It just doesn't look as edgy as the concept (FRS concept, at least) - though I know what works on the concept isn't always realistic for production...

Whether you like the design of a car is completely opinion. "Reviewing" it just makes him sound like an idiot.

He is just someone trying to make a name for himself as an automobile blogger. His opinion is no more noteworthy than anyone on this forum. Ignore him and he will definitely go away.

Hmmm. Need a Canadian to English translation here.

So, if I understand your logic -

The guy is not wrong, but there is something in the way he writes that feels wrong to you? Or maybe you are saying that if you agreed, and you kind of do, you'd feel a little sexually "compromised" because he is a "little bit of a fairy". Therefore, a more heterosexual writing style would go a long way towards convincing you he is right. So taking that logic further - you want to be won over by his writing. Seduced by his logic, so to speak. But, you want to be seduced by a guy who is not a "fairy". That makes sense I guess. When you get seduced you like it to be a real manly guy who does it it you. Okay, I think I get the logic.

Most of the stuff I've read from TTAC have been rather negative concerning the FRS/BRZ. Regardless, I'm already sold on the cars. I mean, I'm interested in what other people have to say about the negatives on anything but I understand I'm also interested in keeping my own opinion. Pretty shitty article, not because of the content, but the way it was written. He was positive on a number of things though! "Me Likey" LOLZ! Journalism.... haha, what'll they come up with next!?

The review was quite a bit knit picky.

There is only one automotive designer that I would trust to review the design of the FR-S and that man is Robert Cumberford who writes for Automobile magaizine.

"Damn near everyone in the Industrial Design department at CCS said my engineering/gearhead/history buff background was killing my potential Car Design career."

The very first line of the article amused me. What's killing his "car design" career is his constant focus on aesthetics and his 2 art classes. Not to mention lack of engineering degrees from ABET accredited universities.

Those upgraded wheels look pretty good.

I do agree to some extent, esp the door lines not matching up and the Scion emblem. It's like the designer only measured once and not twice before cutting.

I hate TTAC and I hate design reviews so I expected to hate this article, but it was actually pretty good. Still hate TTAC though.
