Maybe someday but I'm enjoying not tearing up my front bumper on curbs or parking barriers.

From the few miles I got to drive them on the street, I'd say you're right.

WHen you say they had some rubbing issues and you recommend +42 or +40, do you mean that:
1. The problem is in the front? 2. The rubbing is on the spring coil/strut and not the fender? |

The 245/40/18 R-comps tires he has now maybe much wider and slightly taller than factory/OEM wheels/tires setup. |

a) you think it's going to rub the fender (from inside or outside? its not clear) and b) the tire pokes a bit already since a lower offset on the same width wheel is only going to stick out more. From what I have seen, your fitment should actually be spot on, and maybe a small spacer in the back would be perfect. But you have to provide us with is the shot from the rear since we can't go on whats been posted. Do it wen you get back. It's likely that you WONT rub if you lower it. Actually it'll probably make them fit better, if anything. That being said, they look really good on your car. If you don't want em, I'll take em...

It currently doesn't rub the fender with stock ride height (but would if lowered) but seems to rub the suspension on full right lock when driving in a circle (also it doesn't rub much). A 42 or 40 offset might work better with the current 245/40/18 R compounds at stock ride height on the front but the 45 offset wheels will be better overall when I go to a street tire of either 235/40 or 245/40/18 and lowered. The R1's are only temporary and came with the wheels so I could test fit them on the car. The wheels and tires are in another state at the moment until I have the time and cash to get some street tires and refinish the curbing on a couple of the wheels.

Also, as stated, it only rubs the suspension in the front. The rear has tons of room.

A couple new pics with the Gram Lights w/ 235/40/18 Hankook Ventus Evo 12 tires:
![]() ![]() The new tire combo has absolutely no rubbing and doesn't poke beyond the front fenders like the race tires.

Looks good i think 235/40 is the way to go if you aren't lowering for sure.

Thanks! I came pretty close to getting 245/40's or 245/35's but decided on those for the time being.

The 245/40/18 R-compounds are much wider than a typical street 245/40/18 and I don't think you can fit them with the car lowered without modifying the fenders or running a decent amount of negative camber.
