Then you're saying against your statement of been "save fuel and don't look like an idiotic street racing ricer".

First of all, you're not saving fuel by using the paddle to begin with. I do agree that paddles are fun, but your point of having paddle on the column is better reason is rejected.

Like madfast said, you will look like an idiot revving 5K on the street.
Dark, that's why you get actual manual car, my friend

no its not. when you have the wheel fully turned, you cannot hit the paddle to upshift if you want to. its that simple. if you've spent enough time behind the wheel of a paddle shift car, this will eventually happen to you. sometimes you want to manually shift, but at the same time not drive like a street racer.

its not a contradiction. i want to choose my own gears, but if you have wheel mounted paddles, some instances will come up where you cant access them if you're turning the wheel. with column mounted paddles, i always know where they are.

and yes you can say buy a stick or leave it in auto or use the console shifter... but that still doesnt solve the problem that i presented. with column mounted paddles, there is no problem...

Hm... cuz Keiichi Tsuchiya said differently on GT-R paddle which is mounted on the column. The column mounted paddle require you to down shift earlier into the corner resulting less speed in the corner. That's why MCR's GT-R was move along w the steering wheel.

Comparing DD driver vs expert/pro driver might be different and each have their own opinions... I guess

I wouldn't go that far, but if spinning the steering wheel make them confuse which is down shift or up shift, it's better to keep it auto or just by manual

if you're talking about race cars then the situations im talking about rarely, if ever, occur and so you would probably want wheel mounted paddles...

I was just messing around! A lazy man's stick shift then, how about that! Drivers with paddle shifting want the ability to shift manually but w/out the use of having to press the clutch and move the shifter.

I'll be buying MT, so it doesn't matter column or steering wheel paddle.

im sure most people on this forum will too, but theres nothing else to talk about

i'll be buying auto if the shift times are fast enough. hopefully it will have full lockup from 2nd gear on, etc like the IS-F.

Hah! You went there before I did.

I was about to say... You can polish a turd but it's still a turd. You can add paddle shifters to an automatic, but at the end of the day it's still an automatic.
