sciatica seat issues

so I recently picked up my auto FRS and the seat is comfortable enough, but I am noticing some right leg numbness issues which i believe are from pressure on the sciatic nerve. after 5 minutes of driving the spot where my hamstring and glute attach gets sore/numb and the longer I drive the lower it travels down my leg.

it seems to me that it is caused by my knees being substantially higher than my hips, and since the seat doesn't tilt I can't adjust this. I am afraid I will have to get a little wedge of foam or something, but I don't want to be THAT guy with a seat cushion.

Any suggestions?

I hear you. I am reaching geezer status but discomfort isn't as bad.
I drove 3 hours on Friday and had some discomfort but it didn't get numb.
I found myself constantly rearranging my legs.
I did come to the same conclusion that the seating lacks a tilt feature.
You might just have to be that guy unfortunately.
I'm sure the frame could be modified to be tilted but as you are likely aware it's not a simple affair.
Good luck.

I bet you could get some slightly longer bolts and wedge some washers under the brackets.

Im in the same boat, but luckily my leg only gets numb after a few hours of driving, not minutes.

Using cruise control can increase drive time, but it still annoys me. I wish there was a way to angle the seat.

i've never had this happen before, in any car or chair or anything. very bothersome. i might try to get longer bolts and washers, that sounds like a good idea.

If you are taller, you will have more stress on your legs, since they will be angled more. I plan on adding a cushion down the line, but as for right now, I just deal with it

If it makes you feel any better, this happens to my left leg when I am in my DD civic for more than 30 minutes, so for many it's just the price of getting older....(in early 30's now)

When I was younger, this never happened to me...

Get the dam foam thing. These types of problems should not be aggravated as it will only beget more problems. Honestly you should not rule out getting a new seat or finding devices to alter your seating position, forget what others think. Also, from my own experience, sometimes you need a week or more of trying a device/position to really determine what works, ie, it might not be super comfortable at first but eventually the sciatica will calm down. Just keep trying different things. Stretching helps a lot, if you do it every day.

I've actually started stretching and working out again and it hasn't been bothering me as much as it had been. That or Im just breaking in the seat cushion

But I am looking at getting different seats at some point.
