Only reason I ask is I am coming up on 30 days and was curious if they were throwing you a BS fix cause you were near 30 days as well and wanted to best way to put it stop the clock or buy some time for parts.

I believe it's 30 days total in a certain amount of time, not consecutive so I don't think a BS fix would be in their best interests.

I dont want this to sound like some high school math problem but to clearify what I mean.

They say hey its fixed take it! now the parts they need to solve the problem are 5 days out the fix works for 1-2 days and you are 7 days from 30 days they just bought themselves some time for the parts to get there.

Only reason I mentioned this is they tried to have my drive my car with the lights on while they were waiting for parts and the reason I was given was well it might take up to 30 days to get the parts in.

Got it. You should refuse to take it back until it's fixed.

Update...

Received my FRS back from dealership two days ago after being in shop for second time,
They did the ecu flash after the fact that they went in and changed out hardware the previous time in shop... I'm kinda upset and feel like my vehicle is an effing guinea pig test vehicle, tell me this SOA, why would you go in, change out hardware, not fix the problem, but on second time In shop, do a software update... Very confusing, have lost most confidence In owning this FRS. Total number of days in repair 14...

I have also been in contact with A scion rep by the name of Clayton, he assured me that I would be receiving compensation for my troubles... What ever that is, I asked him what is considered compensation for my situation, he followed by 'it's a case by case scenario'
I've come to the conclusion that scion has hired very well trained and intelligent reps to say the same thing to most everyone with this problem... I don't want an extended warranty, paid for that already, not interested in axis body kit, I already have aftermarket wheels and tires, how bout a fat check with let's say 5gs on it... I might be happy after that...

In the time being till I get resolution from SOA, I'm gonna drive the piss outa this vehicle... After all, they didn't build the FRS to baby the thing... Traccontrol off and redline every chance I get.... That's how it should be done

We're still talking about a problem that might be resolved with a new ecu, right? A new ecu is a pretty easy, low-impact fix.

I respect where you're coming from on this, and my response would be the same. There's nothing wrong and everything right with being prepared. But I'm hoping that this won't go to a "worst case scenario." That would be a shame.

Long story short they ended up putting me in a rental but it was not as easy as it should have been and I am coming up on 30 days and after speaking to the dealer and Corp. yesterday there is no ETA on parts and they are and I quote "Hoping to have an ETA on the 25th"

Update: My car was supposed to be ready today, but I called and found out they have another problem. Waiting on call back before I know what code it is. Service guy never got to drive it home, code must have come up pretty quick. The saga continues.

SO far so good. I got mine back on the 19th and have put on over 200 miles with no problems. All they did was swap the oil control valves and flash the ECU.
Service writer said as of last Tuesday, that was the official Toyota "fix".
I think they found the problem, maybe. Still waiting for the big fail at every stop, not inspiring confidence when a brand new car is in the shop that much.

Question for all those with "fixed" CEL/Trac lights

I had a 00017 code on my BRZ, They got the lights to turn off by swapping valve sensors on the passenger with the driver. No ECU swap or flash, no new parts. The lights are off, the engines not being choked to shit anymore by the computer, however, the idle dip is still happening, car feels sluggish, the dealership in Hawaii doesn't even have a new ECU to flash my shit to and its pretty rough idling at times still. Is this happening to all the "fixed" ones also? and has anyone gotten in touch with Subaru HQ? have they said they're gonna compensate us or what? I cant get a fucking answer from Servco Honolulu or Subaru Corp. Someones gotta have some answers...

I highly doubt the issue would be 100% solved by just switching the valve sensors. Sounds like someone just took a chance and really had no clue what to do
