I am selling my 05 TRD Supercharged tC with way too many mods and I bought the FR-S and I love the sports car feel in it compared to the tC. Yes its underpowered but it drive SO nice I dont even care. I love the FR-S. No regrets here. Oh and by the way that 05 was bought in November of 2004 and the only problem I ever had was the air vent wouldn't stay in place. I expect the same quality out of the FR-S.

Keep the TC and buy the FRS. Daily drive the TC and weekend drive the FRS. Multi car discount on insurance and have the luxury of both. It's paid off why not.

I came from a tc2 with headers/exhaust/intake/pulley and i still would pick my frs over it. The shifter feels so much better, it handles so much better, its faster(i have tune), and i actually feel more comfortable in my frs than my tc2. I wont lie i do miss the space in my tc2 and it had a way better stock sound system in the tc2. I also miss the fat steering wheel but i wudnt look back.

With that few miles it would be foolish to change now...my current ride is about to roll over 160000 miles! I'd like to be in a new car before I spend a dime on repairs, you won't have that problem. Who knows, maybe they will add a moonroof next year considering they are already talking about a convertible which is infinitely more destructive to the rigidity of the chassis than a moonroof.

I mentioned the roof because you know you're going to miss it. I think the tC is a great looking car, way better than everything else with 2 doors anywhere close to its price range. But compared to the BRZ/FR-S, with the exception of the moonroof, there is nothing about the tC I'd rather have over the twins despite the fact that I like the tC quite a bit. The pathetically soft clutch though is what ultimately steered me away. They say the clutch is soft on the twins too, but from my brief clutchings with both cars I would say the tC is twice as soft.

Being mid-20s it doesnt really make sense for me to own two cars. I'd rather keep that extra dough for other things that will be coming up like house, engagement/wedding, etc. Trading in the tC @ 12k-13k seems like the best option right now.

I came from a 2008 TC with 45k miles and was soooooo anxious that I wanted to throw up when making the switch to my Asphalt MT FR-S. My TC was almost paid off and I never had any problems with it... but I became fascinated with the fr-s from the moment I saw it. After a couple days all of my worries went away... I LOVE my new car and it fits me, feels like the car that I should be driving and I feel proud to drive it and comfortable in it. These are things that I never felt about my TC... It was a good car, but more of a point A to B vehicle.
If you are just looking for a good car at a good price that is reliable... stick with your TC, but if you are fascinated with the FR-S and are wondering if it would be worth it to have a car that you love vs. like, well I can tell you that at least for me it was definitely the right choice to get the FR-S!!!

Ok i respect that but its not costing you anything to keep it. most likely you would just use it as a down payment.
You can always sell the TC later. Even if you kept it, i can already predict you will drive the FRS over the TC.

Note: maybe im crazy because i have 3 cars lol
never find a good reason to sell something that still works great. but that's me and you have the right thinking

The TC....get rid of it and get a FR-S or BRZ asap! There are people trading in 370Z, 350Z, lexus is and mustang GTs in on FR-S, BRZ. The tC is crap compared to a FR-S or BRZ.

But 2014 model year is closer than most of yall think...I would wait for a 2014 and hope there is a Release Series.

Come on RWD trumps FWD all the time!

I would wait for the 2014 FR-S so that bugs will be worked out.

My FR-S is great but there are little things that annoy me like:

* Engine cricket noise forcing me to only use Shell gas to make it tolerable
* Passenger speaker area rattling
* Another rattling somewhere in the back, maybe the rear deck

I came from a 2006 tC with TRD suspension (springs, shocks, rear bar). The car was fine but still not really sporty. I liked the hatchback versatility but I knew what I was getting into with no rear passenger room and smallish trunk of the FR-S.

Would I still get the FR-S knowing what I know now? Yes I would. The car drives like a dream. I go out of my way to find curvy roads to just feel the steering and chassis carve up the road.

I was concerned about getting a first year production car like you are now. For my piece of mind, I got an extended warranty for 8yr/100k.

I still look out for tCs out on the road for sentimental reasons, but mostly to see how many have broken rear hatch handles that have been fixed by owners with tape! That is really ghetto. I’m surprised there isn’t a recall for that.

I traded a 2011 1LT Camaro for my FRS. Kept my 2010 RS 6.0 TC. Now I have two Scions in the driveway, the TC is my DD and the FR-S stays in the garage. The TC has 22K and have never had an issue and the FR-S has 550 miles and no issues. Keeping my fingers crossed. I'll post a pic of the side-by-side a little later on.

If you "long" for a TC after driving a FR-S then there would be something really wrong with you.

RWD vs FWD is enough to make the FR-S superior, never mind all the other benefits. Even if you ended up with issues they are all fixable under warranty and you can make them give you a rental.
