In almost all cases they are all still useful info right or wrong. At the very least, they are useful in knowing what not to do for your setup. If you guys want to hear yourselves talk please do it elsewhere because there are guys like me who actually want to hear more testimonials about this cheap STi caliper swap.

Element Tuning - Not saying you're right or wrong but your lap times and video seems to point in a general direction in which i'd listen to your comments. Thanks for sharing your experiences. What has been your solution for the rears?
We do eventually go away because we really just don't care to debate in circles.

Let me be clear, I'm not saying I'm right, I'm saying it doesn't matter which was my whole point in sharing my experience. It works, don't worry about it.

I've mentioned I don't think the OEM Brembos are even that good (perfectly excellent for street but poor motorsports choice) but if you got them, use them. I'll be running something else, most likely AP Kit but I need the monster kit because I'll be running 500 hp and lots of down force!

Jamal is just pointing out that from an engineering standpoint, there are issues that are worth understanding with the STI brembo upgrade. And he does have plenty of real world experience.

Phil has been able to show that he can still very fast in spite of those potential issues and for him it's not a big deal right now. With his hoosiers, the stock brakes weren't going to cut it so the brembos were a fine option since he had them on hand.

No reason to get all bent out of shape here....

I have been running the STI brembo conversion in the front our BRZ for about 4 months now, and about 2 weeks ago I installed the rear. Link to original post > http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...4&postcount=50 I was able to switch the bleeder orientation to do it the right way, but I will say that I have ran Brembos the way Phil has them and although its not the preferred way it does work actually very well. From a drivers perspective you would never know they are backwards.

The set up works really well and the BRZ stops super fast now. I have done everything from daily driving to 5 hard track days, with and without the 430WHP turbo kit. Is it the ideal caliper set up for a racecar? "NO". There are better kits out there for the money, but for a street car that will see autoX, trackdays, its a great setup that is works very well. If your planning on running a turbo on the street "At least the front set up is a must" IMO

Here are some pics of the set up:

If anyone is interested in this setup we have the kits for sale ready to bolt on to the car. Available in OEM Gold or Black

Thank you

P&L: Can you PM me a price on that kit please...

To everyone else.. My concern with this set-up would be altering the brake bias in such a way as to induce over or understeer on corner entry. Seems like the brakes could upset the cars balance when braking hard and leave the suspension unhappy as you enter a corner. Opinions?

Can you provide details on the rears? I have to types of adapters, and would love if one of those would fit.

You won't have unusual bias issues if you match your front and rear pads with either the same pad or very similar coefficient of friction. Do not fall into the trap of lesser rear friction!

As for scary bias I ran Hawk DTC 70 up front with oem rear. Let's just say I still whooped some arse but I didn't dare attempt to trail brake. I had to have custom rear pads made for the FRS as race pads didn't exist yet.

Or you can request Brownbos like mine I actually remember melting the piston impression into the brake pad backing plate with mine. The FRS is pretty easy on brakes with oem power however.
