i wouldnt want to go much more aggressive in the rear.. that much more fender work would be too risky in my eyes. at full negative camber in the front you could fit another 6-10mm i think easily.. but wouldnt expect to get another 5mm out of the rear without retarded camber. wheels spin super easy now... a lot easier to drive/drift.. got rid of the crazy snapback it used to have... also did a "self alignment" to get rid of the toe in that was causing the tire to rub on the rear bumper mount... hardly rubs on it now... some of the bumper was rubbed off by the tire, so it rubs on hard inclines. |

Congrats on your fitment, looks absolutely spot on. Very impressed by the 19lb weight as well considering the size. Didn't think they'd be that light.
Looked at these wheels and that type of stance myself but just couldn't commit to spending the $$$ for the wheels and living with a slammed car again (speed bumps and scraping and stuff got old last time). Glad to see somebody do these wheels sooo right though, so props. Kind of wondering why you went for the Federals when there's so much better rubber out there in 225/40/18. Purposeful choice for less grip, decent wear and slidabiliy versus sticky tires? Also curious which coil overs you're running and curious to see what alignment specs you end up with. You're probably quite aware that you're not runnng an optimal track setup, and I won't even go near the suspension geometry and travel issues at that height but I also don't agree with these folks who rush in and assume that the car is 'ruined' just because it probably won't be winning AutoX events. If somebody's not bothered about lap times there's plenty of ways to balance a chassis and tweak handling characteristics to taste. Most people on here are trying to do the exact same thing - trying to find their own personal balance or conpromose between aesthetics and handling. TL;DR I think setup looks hotter than tits, even if it's not what I would do personally. :happy0180:

have no problem buying the more expensive tires ( had re01r on my 8th gen si ) .... i just tried something else and liked it. had 595rs-r on the front of my corolla and dz101 on the rear and it was magical. my intentions were not to build a race car... like all these people infer by talking about suspension geometry. i wanted it to look the way i wanted, and perform , while drifting, how i wanted.... and im in love. couldnt be happier with how it looks or slides or just drives in general. |
