So Scion called today and we got refunded our premium extended warranty and one month since our car was in the dealership for almost four weeks! We are just happy that our baby is back home and not sick anymore!

UPDATE ON MY RAVEN FRS 6MT
So as i mentioned on my thread title, this is a update to my previous post about the CEL and SL lighting coming on after my RPM's dropped below 500 and began to bog, ---so to start off i recently came back from the dealershi[p from expeirencing what could be the craziest dealership i have ever been too! they call me the monday after i got my car towed in from my place of work to tell me that i can pick up my car, i then continued by asking what was replaced on my car in oder to fix the issue, THERE RESPONSE WAS " we didnt replace nething, all we did was reset the CEL, cuz the car was acting up when they brought it in." so i basically asked TECH if nothing was changed or fixed then wouldnt i be expecting the car to act up again? the tech said yes no doubt it will happen again, SO i said then how the hell u expect me to sign off on papers and basically put my self and the guinee pig!......lol im still baffled. Neways its now thursday and i went and said screw ill take the car tell i was not happy and then drive it off. But i todl em if it gives me problems again lol im gonna just finish it and break the car and destroy the engine, idk how lmao but i would. as i drove off the lot i felt the car act a bit different then when i purchased it, so i took it on the highway and opened it up to about 131mph.....lol, and then came down on idle. and lord and behold engine began the bogg again! took it to the dealership and said here, lol. they then recorded all the engine issues with this freeze frame tech. and sent it to a engineer at toyota corp. and they responded and said ECU need to be replaced with new software. so now i went from driving a FRS to a Matrix to a corrolla and now im in a yaris. trying to figure out how they should compinsate me what you guys think.....?

Then also Toyota confirms that the ECU needs new software, and not new cam sprocket and OCV?!
So every car out there who got new cam sprockets and ocv was not needed? Only a ECU.... |

Sounds like you've been through just about the entire Toyota lineup of cars. You should be getting paid to do reviews of those cars.
It also sounds like these guys can't do enough to compensate you! I don't know what the going rate is but it sounds like extended warranties and parts are popular choices. Last edited by jduffy; 09-13-2012 at 06:19 PM. |

as for them lending me there cars the only reason they did so and not put me in a rental was becuz i live in metairie LA. and HUrricane Isaac cause most of the rental agency's to be out of cars in the area....idk im just like if toyota is expecting to sell this vechicle they shouldnt sit there and say its my fault for buying the car, if they are going to sell it and make money from it then its there responsibality to take ownership of the problem and not sit there and hide behind the fact oh its a new car opf course its going to have issues----PRODUCT TEST PRODUCT TEST PRODUCT TEST--. |

I have suggested a few times now for someone with the issue to use my new dealer upgraded flash which Visconti has a copy of, to flash their stock ecu to see if it resolves the issue. I guess no one with a cable has the issue.

I would recommend not to drive it or even start it... Heck call the dealership and ask them to flatbed it into the shop. Better safe than sorry...

Damn, I miss my car already! I had to remove pulley, cold air and front pipe. Oh yeah I also had the stock exhaust put back on. It's just a hassle and a major inconvenience

Code P0017
Got the whole stop at a light, the RPM's drop, the engine starts idling roughly, pop goes the CEL. Took it to the dealership. Code P0017. Camshaft Sensor bad is diagnoses. Have to ge part from CA. This seems to be a common problem manifesting itself in different ways with different codes. Just thought I would add this one since I hadn't seen it on any of the forums yet.
