I bought a case of Toyota 0W-20 at North Park Toyota using their 15% Off parts coupon (check out their website). Final price was around $7 something per quart. (I hear NAPA has the standard Mobil 1 on sale this month @ 5.89/qt.)

The Toyota 0W-20 is highly rated on BobIsTheOilGuy website. From what I understand XOM (Exxon Mobil) makes it for Toyota's specs and it has a newer zinc, trinuclear moly formula thus reducing the molybdenum content to save costs. The new formula performs the same and may help keep the engine cleaner as some engines have problems with deposits caused by high molybdenum content oils.

Here is a BRZ oil analysis report showing the high molybdenum content of our factory oil...

ENEOS Sustina 0W-20 is suppose to be the best oil out there right now but, not easily obtainable or cost effective when shipped. It's the type of oil that you could run for 10,000 miles.

All of the 0W-20 oils will work but, the differences are in the additive packages and the quality of the synthetic base oils used.

The Mobil 1 Racing oils are suppose to be good because of their additive packages. 0W-20 is available but, expect to pay about $20 a quart.

My impression is the Toyota 0W-20 offers the best bang for the buck and is better quality than the regular Mobil 1 synthetic 0W-20 formula.

Awesome...thanks for the heads up. I'll go grab some oil over there next time I'm in the area. I'm shooting to do the change sometime next weekend if anyone wants to come over and do some basic wrenching.

I personally would refrain from running Mobil 1 in this car. If it acts the same as it does in the turbo impreza platform, you will have big oil consumption problems.

I personally switched to Pennzoil Ultra synthetic 5w-30

I am not knocking Mobil 1 by any means.. I'm just warning everyone based on experience owning Subaru's for the past 8 years and what I have found. For some reason that shit just straight up vanishes.

Concur with the Mobil 1 AFE 0w-20 observation (seen that reported alot as well). Good choice with the Pennzoil 5W-30 Ultra. Might go that route myself next Summer when I get a few more miles on the engine. Did you notice any decrease in MPG? Likely minimal if any.

I took the car onto the beach at Mustang Island and driving out to corpus and back I was still getting 30+ mpg at 85-90 mph on the highway.

I think all he needs is to have a covered garage or bay to do it, but he can also meet you at the VW Dealership (rod east, off 410 and broadway area) and do it there.

Warrantied his work, and application was flawless. He has done less-than-strickly-legal tint for me, but told me I was on my own for that. Though no big deal for me because I know a great place in Seguin to get my inspection done, and they don't care about tint.

Anyhow, I highly recommend him. He's friendly, professional, quick, and charges a great price. His name is Joe, and can be reached @ 210-381-1034. You can tell him Clint for Tormax sent ya.

Does anyone know if this guy changed his number? I've called him twice and haven't heard back.

who's your sales person? A fellow named Blaine hunted down mine in black since they didn't have a black auto in stock. Within 5 days of meeting he had one on site.

Could be me, I live near Fredericksburg and I-10, but I'm often going to 410/I-10 on the Southeast side as well.
