He has a point. I've seen a member on here with mods and a tune with a video and bragging about going from 0-60 in 6.2 seconds when MT magazine did that with a stock FR-S. The only "real" performance differences I have seen comes from the F/I tuned cars.

I gues you guys have not seen what Perrin or Nameless have to offer. just as an example of the tons of aftermarket parts making HP reliably.

I'm waiting for a bulletproof turbo build so I can pay big and pay once. So I'll be waiting at least a year so there are cars that have run the kits through most possible conditions.

Might do some small things that won't effect the car in any way. Like window tint for example, which I keep putting off.

I'm holding off for a while until these components go through more long term testing. I hate having to repurchase parts and if something comes out down the line that makes a good amount more power than parts I have already purchased it would irritate me. On the other hand I'm in no rush as I haven't gotten bored with the car yet. But when that time comes I'm sure I'll be irking for a nice set of wheels and tires!

Yeah I'm holding off on the big engine mods until my warranty gets voided which should be by the middle of next year with how much I drive lol... I'm already past 5,200 miles and I got my car towards the end of July. I've done little things like tints, changed the bulbs to LED, swapped the shift knob to a Flossy knob, and thats pretty much it. I'm going to stick to cosmetic mods until the warranty is up. I really want to get an exhaust but I'm waiting to possibly purchase it with a turbo kit, once more people get them installed and we know how reliable they are.

I'm holding off on mods for a couple of reasons:

1) Strong possibility that the 2014 version will correct the majority of issues we've been complaining about on this forum. In that event I could see myself comfortably selling this car, at close to breakeven or a small loss and picking up the new version.

2) Very likely an STI version will come out in the next 2 or 3 years. It may cost $5K to $10K more, but I'll be first in line to buy it.

At the end of the day, I'm upgrading the BRZ.
