Boot liners back on eBay

I just ordered a raised cargo mat boot liner from eBay that lets you fit the spare tyre. $135 and free shipping. They seem to go in batches and sell pretty quickly. If you want one jump on eBay and search for "cargo mat Toyota" and it'll come up. Some people have been saying that they are made in Japan with the car but from what I've read they were made for Australian 86's and made in Australia.

Might be worth getting one for the rare factor, seeing as its discontinued.

The rubber boot mat that was originally included with the Australian Spec vehicles (if it's the same one that is on ebay) is made in Japan, as a custom product ordered by TMCA. So yes it is an Australian product code/part number only but is still made in Japan.
Only reason i know this is the Toyota dealership i work at gave us pricing for wheels and mats to assist with unhappy customers, and mentioned that the boot mats come from Japan and can take up to 6weeks to arrive when ordered.

I know you work at a Toyota dealer, but this post from a member in the other thread looks convincing to be honest

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...76&postcount=6

The only thing I can suggest is that the one you are talking about is the official one for the brz which looks much better made than the Toyota one. Further more the part number on the eBay one is different to the one you provided (eBay now says 10 available) in the other thread and even the sticker says "Toyota motor corp, Australia".

Either that or the ones on eBay are reproductions....

The BRZ spare cover looks atrocious. Very poorly put together. I have ordered one of these to replace mine when it arrives.

Vehicles with a spare came without rubber mat in the boot, it was made in Australia and installed at the wharf.

Some dealers (or the system they use) are confused with a number of Australian made accessory parts, saying they come from Japan.

You're talking about the one in the options sheet right? As said I'm only going on what it looks like in pics, which seems to be the felt liner. However if you have seen it first hand disregard my comment....

Just remember guys you need the foam insert that sits in the spare wheel so the center of the donut is firm

Yeah it's a felt liner offered as an accessory.
It is made up of a flat felt piece covering the boot floor, a ring surrounding the height of the spare and a circular top that sits on this ring.
All 3 parts are glued together and the ones I've seen to date show very visible glue and joins at both interfaces.
Wish I'd saved my $175..

I'll have to fab something up to fit the donut, never thought about it!
