So here's my question: on a drift car, why do you need a rear wing? You don't really go fast enough for it to affect downforce...and why would you need downforce anyway? Doesn't that defeat the purpose when you're trying to hang the tail out? Making the car stick more? To really make it effective on a drift car it should pivot 45 degrees off center either way, otherwise your just pushing through the air at an angle...(:

The power level of Formula D cars is upwards of 700-1200hp. While there is no HP restriction, there is a tire width restriction. Grip and downforce is alot more important than people think.

Also not going fast enough? Some cars are entering a corner sideways at over 80-90mph.

I understand about 2% of the people on this board enjoy drifting and the other 98% hate us. but that's OK. let us have out fun with big wings and body kits.

the wing is higher and wider than the body for a reason...if you don't understand why then you don't understand the topic at hand and should be learning, reading books, not spreading misunderstandings....

Autocross cars have been rocking magnums for years, they rarely hit above 70. On the national level, its not uncommon to see the top ten cars separated by 100ths of a second - they would not run them if they did not help.

But,(to me at least) auto cross and drifting are two different things. Auto cross is actual racing, being timed, and the fastest guy wins. Of course you want
to get around the course as fast as you can. The more your car sticks to the track, the better. Going sideways is counterproductive to race car driving. Drifting is the figure skating of the automotive world. Anything that relies on judges and style points isn't really competition, at least the way I see it. It's fun, in a "hooning it up" kinda way. I have fond memories of sliding my buddies Datsun "Honey Bee" around, with a can of starting fluid piped into the carb for a poor mans nitrous boost...LOL

Traction is very important in drifting, you want your car to get as much grip as possible. More grip means more speed and more smoke. Not to mention, car style is very important in drifting, and being flashy eye catching is something most people do. If the driver likes the way the wing looks then they might as well throw it on, it's damn sure no counterproductive.

Those were images meant for twitter/insta and not really final product photos.

These guys are big on graphic design and presentation.

Drift cars are set up to grip, not to slide. Higher entry speeds require higher grip levels. Of course, things like toe and caster are completely different to allow for max steering angle, but drift car builders aim for max grip and chassis response.

I will be doing this with mine. Only different is that I will be using custom uprights. Some slanted back more for a more "raked" look.

Love BCL's stuff. George and Stew both love theirs' as well and both have stated that they do make a huge difference in the characteristics of the car at higher speeds

When they are ready, TAP Auto Parts will be carrying them. Dforce and I used to be in business together, so if he is making a product I have no problem standing behind it 100%

Quality parts made in the USA from guys with more heart and passion for what they do then most in this industry.

I think they look pretty cool. It is definitely a style that you either love or hate, but it is functional and can be pulled off with the right attitude.
