If you have 2000+ miles and have no idle dip, then I would assume you're ok.
Define idle dip?

Mine does a small occasional dip. But it's far from sounding like the motor is about to die or anything.

I have #7692. No issues yet. Had the car about 3 weeks. 3200 miles. No issues yet (knock on wood, literally).

Someone should build a thread with two polls on it. One for VIN range and one for the most common issues where you can select more than one answer, and then correlate the responses in a graph after the fact.

I'd do it but I lost all interest in HTML and all that jazz back in high school.

Maybe I can pre-notify my dealer so they know it isn't the turbo's fault if it happens.

I remember the 2009 WRX's were having a similar problem. The issue would start with a knocking sound tho coming from the engine bay and ended up in failure. They compiled a list of everyone having the issue on NASIOC and people were having the problem from as low as 20 mi up to 60k miles and up. I think the problem was that they switch to a different material rod for 3 months from june 2008 to sept 2008 which caused the failure...
This is partly the reason I am holding off on buying an FRS still.

Glad to hear you were able to make it back but sucks about the problem which as other members mentioned, is a common issue.

Same here, bought my car in May and put 9500+ miles on it and no problems. Knocking on wood, we don't experience issues later.

I have my vin number right here, but i'm confused... What digits do I look at to determine if it's in the 7000's? Thanks.

Dude. You installed a custom turbo kit. Your warranty IS and should be hosed. You pay to play.

I'd love to get everyone with this issue to post the serial # on the engine instead of the car's VIN. Betting they are sequential.

lol I've mentioned this tens of thousands of times in my posts and to my tuner. I know this. It never hurts to try though. Just like asking a girl out. Worst answer is always no.
