I do remember reading on the SOA blog, they did say it was there idea to ask Toyota if they wanted to do a joint venture on a project. It turned out to be the ft86 we are all going crazy over.

Yeah, thats what got me so excited about this car! Toyota came to US (ok, more specifically, Moto) and asked US enthusiasts what we would like this car to be. It was humbling really...and now seeing this car come to its final stages it appears Toyota was really listening. The only figures I'm antsy to hear about anymore is the weight, and the engine characteristics. If they get it low weight and high-rev / peppy 4A style (for a new age of course), they hit the nail perfectly on the head!

Hey cyde, you wouldn't happen to know who drew that old AE86 successor concept drawing where the car was basically a futurized rounded AE86 hatch? I've been trying to find that picture. Remember seeing it on club4.

try doing a search at club 4ag for new Toyota sports car. The yellow one I'm pretty sure was done by best car. The grey one, have no idea who did that one.

I made a phone call and saw if my "hook up" can get us more info... hopefully he'll be able to, but he's kinda sounds like he cares less about this car / project. LOL.

Just to clear some things up. SOA Blog is not just one guy it's actually a group of pepole who work for Subaru of America and are responsible for SOA's "internet presence" so to speak.

When they showed up back in 2008 everyone over on NASIOC threw the BS flag, flamed them, and treated them the same way TRDLiquid was treated when he first showed up here.

SOA Blog's account was frozen until moderators could verify through independent sources that they were indeed legit. Trust me they are who they say they are... and that's why there's even a sticky thread for you to ask them questions directly.

They are legit... but they only represent Subaru of America's opinion of the situation which may or may not be 100% correct (the cars are being built in Japan by SOJ etc).
