Anyone else notice that the drivers side exhaust tip seems to come off the side of the passenger side tip and then its a single pipe going down to the engine via the left side of the diff

Of course the twin exit looks great but just like they did with the IS-F Toyota seem to be putting another 'Performance' car out there with a visually 'fake' exhaust system

This is just adding unneccecary weight to the car.....and this just doesnt fit with Toyota trying to make the car as light as possible. A single tip was enough as standard on my 326bhp UK Spec Supra Twin Turbo and a single exhaust is enough for my 330bhp GT-Four so why the hell do i need a twin exit on a little 2litre nasp!? Come on Toyota stop messing about! I promise i'll buy the car with a single exhaust tip! But i cant promise i'll buy it if it weighs as much as the moon!

If thats the way my car is delivered then the stock exhaust will be pulled off and replaced with something decent withing the first 24hrs of owning it!

Yup we discussed it a page or two back. It really depends on the material they use as to how much weight it really adds. Totally your option to swap but it abundantly clear as per the tons of pages on the looks of this car that visual appeal is also important to prospective buyers. They probably felt it looks more balanced with dual tips, and it does imo.

In this case the "visual appeal" is not only important to (some of the) potential customers, but its also important for Toyota.

Toyota have said they want to change the image which they have gained over the last few years for dull uninspiring cars, I don't for a second think that they only want to tackle this through performance, visuals is a huge factor in public perception, especially those that aren't in to performance cars.

I'd rather this car come with dual exhaust in this form, than have it come with one.

The reason is for high boost applications if anyone wanted to add a second exhaust outlet and the car came with only one exhaust, it would look like crap if they tried to add a second.

IMO planning for the aftermarket

And it what type of application would you EVER want to "add a second exhaust outlet" to gain practical power?

Single exhaust should have been done from the get go, but ill be swapping out whatever it comes with anyways.

Ehh well I guess even a turbo inline 4 would still be able to expel its exhaust well enough from a single exhaust.

How about symmetry? You can't argue with that one!

And no, an exhaust in the middle does not look good.

Ugly.

Especially the Lotus.

The dual centered exhaust isn't as bad, but still ugly.
