It's too bad about your BRZ, but this is true.

Since BRZs are going for over MSRP, I wonder if you'll get a bigger payout.

It was an attempted insurance fraud by an exotic dealer down here in TX. Luckily some kids saw him and recorded his "accident."

Also, this was in Galveston so that is all salt water destroying that beautiful engine.

Wow. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I had a friend of mine who sold his FD3S RX-7 show car to a guy down south; he had it appraised at something ludicrous like $80,000 and then dumped it in the river. My friend caught wind of it all somehow and put an end to that guy's claim. Imagine seeing the car you built by hand get demolished just so some a-hole could try to earn a buck.

No. You can get less of a payout even if you bought the car at MSRP. Happens all the time regardless of what you pay.

Was the intake underwater? It's hard to tell. Honestly if you had kept driving and assuming the intake didn't get water in it you would have been fine. But it's hard to tell how high that water is.

True, but no one wants to literally piss away one million dollars in a split second. Obviously it was not the case with this car. Someone thought they could pull a fast one (no pun intended).
