I'm kind of confused. Are you a paying customer who participated in the group buy or sent John any $, or we're you trying to get him to assist the guys you hired to do a custom turbo build mid-way into the project? I understand your frustration having the car in the shop so long, but I don't remember him being a part of the initial build. Just trying to figure out what's going on here with the talk of "blacklisting". Maybe I missed something.

I was holding off on mentioning this but according to this post I don't know why you needed John's tune anyways since your tuners was superior...

Updated the first post with some more info - "problems and solutions"

As it turns out the first post has a lot of info, but isn't as clear as it could be.

I'm going to try and redo it now to help avoid a lot of questions that continue to be asked.

He has a turbo tune that I had money in hand to buy. He also was trying his hardest to divert me from using another forum members cable here just down the street from me. That would allow me to not even bother you guys on the list and do some of you and John a favor of not adding yet another name to the list. All I needed from him was just the same as you guys, the tune file, the license, and just some datalogging.

The blacklisting has little to do with my personal case, I am part of a at least a few different people that have been disrespected, been denied tuning access, moved to the bottom of a list, been flipped out on, and others. I'm only saying all of this because I'm not forced to use his tuning solution anymore. Otherwise I wouldn't have said anything for fear that he wouldn't give us the tune. He knows that he has the ONLY tuning solution out right now so he can deal with this however he wants. I'm just here to say that he's been going about the customer service ALL WRONG. Let's not focus on my personal issue, but more on the way he's been handling multiple customers including myself.

We were unable to get into the ECU like we were originally trying to do, much like all of the other tuners currently attempting to, such as COBB. That was the original way we hoped to use which would allow us to use the stock ECU and have FULL tuning freedom, not just a box tune like Ecutek. We are still able to have most tuning freedom with the ProEFI standalone. There are a couple of things that we can't tune though. Nothing serious though.

I'll admit i'm getting impatient and frustrated but with group buys and preorders there is usually a wait involved. When i paid there were cables and I figured i would get one no problem but had no idea how many other people had ordered too and the supply was gone. Part of the reason i'm getting impatient though is because of what others are saying about the tune and also because I want to get the tune before I do anything other mods because I may not need anything else if i'm happy with it.

Why would you think his turbo tune would work for a turbo kit using different parts and design than P&L or Accelerated? I'm sure thats why he wanted you to have a cable I don't think a turbo tune is one size fits all. Why would you want to cheap out on a cable when you spent thousands of dollars on a turbo kit, body kit, and wheels?

Plenty of people have money in hand for a tune..

Calling me over and over again doesn't solve anything.

You wanted to use someone cable and I didn't want to do that.

I offered you a loaner cable but you gave me the hardest time about it.

I even tried calling you back on Friday but as it turns out I was calling and texting the wrong number.

I've had no problems. Paid my money, got my tune. I asked for an update on the timeline for features I was interested in and got it. I haven't wasted any money yet, and I look forward to continued business with John.

It was the only solution besides standalone. We were going to datalog and essentially do a street tune and he would send new tunes over the internet to us based on the datalogs from the dyno runs we would do. It wasn't just a flash-n-go if that's what you were thinking.

If you want more info about my project then please PM me, my personal stuff does not need to be in this thread.

Seriously wtf is there a mute feature to ignore members who threaten blacklist a vendor who spends hard earnes time researching our platform for our benefit? Tired of the impatient whining. The goddamn car has only been out for a few months whats a few more when it's only a one man operation.

Just because you are a monopolistic solution for a product doesn't mean that your customer service has to completely suck. There is a certain level of professionalism that needs to be met. I don't think I should need to say it any more.

I think he has got the message and might continue giving people his tuning benefits hopefully with a better attitude. The first time I called him he was yelling at someone in public wherever he was. As a customer, I shouldn't have to hear this.

Also, if you click on a forum member's name here to the left, and then view their public profile. You can click on a "User Lists" button right below their avator. Then you can hit "Add to ignore list". Hope this helps.
