re: driving routes - I mapped out and ran some amazing roads a couple of weekends ago, further east in the valley. If the weather holds I am considering running at least some part of the route again on Saturday morning after I run an errand or two. I would need to significantly trim the route, as last time it took most of the day and a good three hundred plus kilometers. Hehe. That, and some of the roads and connectors between are not worth repeating often.

The roads aren't secret but are not universally known either, so it might be best to avoid too much detail here. I would be open to pointing forum folks towards them and could potentially be convinced to run it with other forum cars. The more cars show, the slower we'd go. Safety first! PM if interested, but please don't post that you've PMed.

Is meeting in Richmond even a good idea. People may run into our cars by accident *cough* LOL. This weekend doens't work for me.

The 15/16th works as long as the weather stays sunny. Why not drive up to Squamish? There's a restaurant called Howe Sound Brewery where we can eat. http://www.howesound.com/home.aspx

Just an idea

dude, i am so down for this. been looking for great roads to just go for a drive ala top gear style. idiots ruined sea to sky and belcarra power plant road (they put road bumps - tons of sweeping corners and 2 hairpins, 1 with a double apex in it, notorious for people plowing the thing due to understeer)

lol i know we dont drive a black series merc but..clarkson nailed it

Hello Everyone!

I know this is short notice, but I saw you were all talking about a meet:

Jalopnik posted this fantastic story about Connor's dad, a british father who is trying to put together a car meet for his soon who sadly has only weeks to live. A few weeks before Connor was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, his father Scott promised to take him to a modified car show. But now his timetable is condensed, so Scott is taking the meet into his own hands posting this message on a UK Subaru Forum:

Quote:
i have arranged with FRED LAWTON LTD MELTHAM MILLS INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, MELTHAM HUDDERSFIELD,HD9 4AY to be able to use there car park for the gathering which i would like to hold on saturday the 8th of september starting from 1 pm. everybody and every type of car is welcome so please please please come if you can make it and make my little boys day a special one thank you all in advance and please put your name down on your posts to this thread so i can get an idea of numbers.
Read more here:
http://jalopnik.com/5939202/help-a-b...-his-dying-son
http://jalopnik.com/5939575/dads-wis...iral-overnight

Someone in Vancouver has started up a meet for people who'd like to bring their cars out for Connor's day as well!

Information:

Unfortunately Team VCMC will not have our FR-S car in town but I will be bringing my Miata!

Would be cool to see some of you guys out again or some new faces!

Richard
