Mine has 77,000 and has been turboed for about 8,000 at 300whp, and have never had any problems with it. Take note that I never race from a dig, and dont abuse when shifting.

Both Subaru and Toyota will be doing there own interior designs.

I think Subaru is the main engineer, with Toyota having a big hand in direct injection and bring their relationship with Yamaha into play and marketing/promotion.
Judging by the comments from SOA Blog (a confirmed group of Subaru representatives) over on NASIOC I think you are correct.

a couple of responses in the thread reveal:

SOA Blog: "And tbh, it doesn't matter which badge is on the test car - we are building all of them and it's our engineering in both versions. The badgework is just that.. badgework"

Big Elm: "Well then..... I never thought I'd see the day where you can interchange your Subaru parts for Scion and vice versa. That will be unique...."

SOA Blog: "you still won't - they'll all be Subaru parts =)"

I had 2 Aisin transmissions. Broke with less than 25k on them, tw0 different VWs. It's a premium car to say the least too. I've owned a 4agze mr2 and sw20 mr2. I know from experience.

This is a low 20s tuner car. It will not get the same quality as the VW units I had or like the Porsche 911 997 Aisin either.

Yeah, I didn't try to rhyme it.

As I stated, Aisin has made some extremely reliable and power proof transmissions in the past. I can't help but notice that most of the 'trouble' transmissions are actually transaxles.

"Can't get out of its own way." Not even gonna chime on this...its like beating a dead horses dead great grandfather.

Could that 3rd brake light be a temporary light judging by the cable in the background? I can't tell if that cable is going to the brake light or the antenna on the trunk

Ah, now it all makes sense. It was a VW. Ok thanks for the clarification.

I second that. VW makes the most unreliable cars on earth. Look at the reliability score. LOL

I'm not liking the wing, functional or not. Aesthetically I think it'd look better if it were a bit further back so that it's more flush with the trunk. Functionally, the car should be properly tuned bone stock from the factory without the need for a wing to tune the oversteer/understeer dynamics. The wing is high because the higher it is, the more unfettered the air is that goes to the wing.

Oh and that's not an 11 STI wing--the Sti doesn't have those fin things on the side.

All the hate on Aisin's a bit premature... I mean Aisin has been used on Porsche 996/997, they can make pretty decent transmissions.

I had 3 Aisin transmissions, the first finally started going out around 210k miles, the second was its used replacement which worked fine, and the 3rd was its 5-speed manual variant, that also lasted until the engine blew (Transmission is still fine) at 180k. I also know from experience.

Also, if memory serves me correctly, the S54 gearbox wasn't made by Aisin.

If anything, I can see Scion stripping down the base Toyota model, just to mark up the parts they stripped out and sell them back to you.

Because the only reason you like that wing is probably because it is on the GT-R.

People like the looks of a car because of the power behind it. I find this hypocritical but it's how people are that understand the real power to something. See below.

This is my point. If a car is ugly or aggressive but has insane power, people get out the lube and bend over for the styling. Some people even start to like the style just because they know it has power.

I know this happened to me when I watched Ken Block in the STi. I used to hate that car but when I started having more respect for it I started liking the looks more.

My point is that to some people this car is too "aggressive" only because they know the targeting power range, while to others they think it's not aggressive enough because it lacks ugly elements from cars that already have power, and they are used to associating them together.

If only people could be less biased, but then they wouldn't be human.
Na ur speculations are totally off my friend... I been in the car business for almost 10 years now, know a lot bout Scions even before they came out, especially the tC. Owned the tC since it was a baby with 1 mile on it back in '05, do my own mechchanical work. And Scion doesn't add any accessories on their cars unless its a Release Series. So all the add ons such as fog lights, spoiler, CAI, exhaust are availible for purchase. If they add those things to the car then it will be a first & only cuz of the MSRP will be higher than the other Scions.

I completely agree about the turn indicators. Seems like there should be some regulation regarding the height and location of them. Are there any recent production cars that have the turn indicators that low? Just not a big fan of that location for aesthetics and functional reasons.
the supra and the R33 skyline has the indicators at the bottom

VW are dead reliable and I don't mean that in the nicest way. The windshield wiper motor went on it too. Between those things the car was off the road for more than 30 days, lemon buy back. Colleague of mine has a 04' GTI VW with transmission issues for 20k miles but it has 150k on it and he's thinking about buying a 2010 GTI.
