It will not fit back on with anything thicker than vinyl.

I'll likely be starting a thread to gauge the interest of the forum. I've got a lot of experience in it, and will hopefully be able to provide some options at a decent cost for everyone. :happy0180:

Just went outside and looked. I'd definitely have to do it in one piece since the seam between the two is too tight. That being said, I feel like it could probably fit back in with a layer of microsuede. Could be wrong though.

This is why I love the Aus GT model. The only silver in the whole interior is on the steering wheel:

That looks real nice all black. I do kinda like the silver in the door pulls though.

My shop could also did this for some that are afraid to do it, but would be a PITA do to shipping back and forth the parts.

Looks good! I'm planning to remove all the silver trim pieces and paint them with ALSA "Ghost Chrome" metallic paint. It should look and feel a lot more like real metal and less like painted silver plastic. I'm hoping to find a way to paint the shifter surround and buttons and re-label the trac/esc buttons afterward (maybe lightly machine-engrave them and paint so it looks like engraved metal?). I haven't decided what to do with the dash portion yet; I'm thinking that carbon fiber vinyl is probably the way to go!

Should just find an frs that wants to trade if you want carbon fiber dash pieces. That is why I didn't do cf wrap because the frs's come that way.

I kinda do to. I can always take the vinyl off. I just wanted another small project that I could do inside since it is a million degrees outside

They aren't CF patterened, they're that little "T" shape pattern. Honestly I'd rather wrap it in a layer of real carbon fiber, or replace it with a carbon piece, but that might be outside my budget.

I keep thinking that when I do this that I'd really like to bond the two dash pieces together first THEN vinyl. That crease is unsightly and decreases the overall finish imho.

Umm... that could impair the passanger side airbag from deploying properly. The bag deploys at such high velocity I kinda doubt it, but why take a chance?
