It will be coming with FB20 with a Toyota head. Don't ask my source. Enjoy reading up on the FB, but the Toyota head is new to all of us. JJJJ

Then you may say there is no enough gap between the window and the c pillar. For that, they can achieve it simply by taping over the gaps to hide that detail. In fact, if you look at the top portion of the rear window, you see a bit of camo in actually on the window itself. And there seems to be a gap on that side as well so that they need to tape it over to hide it. As to the red circle, it MkII the trunk line and window are not flush, and that is not a good sign for a hatch door. However, that little gap can be used to direct rain water to the side if designed properly so that is not a definitive evidence. By now you should see that I am all for the hatch, as Allch_Chcar said that if that is a coupe, the large rear window is just a waste of space. Just a side note. No one actually points out that the rear trunk (hatch?) door is different from the Mk II. It is actually close to the FR-S (Mk III) in turns of the design. I would see this as a mixture of Mk II and Mk III, but fundamentally this is the same car from Mk I with little changes on the chassis. No need to fuss and get angry because this is still the same car with some minor changes... :happy0180: Edit: actually if you look at the right side of the rear window (opposite side of the green circle), you can see a gap between the window and the chassis, and the camo tape that tapes over the sheet metal but not the window. That finding further suggests that this is a fastback rather than a trunk... Last edited by Want.FR-S; 05-18-2011 at 12:18 AM. Reason: New finding suggests this has a hatch |

![]() As PAImportTuner said, there are similarities with front door window, and big side mirrors. Another thing I noted was the fog lights looking similar. BTW, why cant this be a Subaru? Whats your logic?

I just meant that you keep digging, trying to find reasons for why this isn't the Toyota version and how it has to be the Subaru version. I realize like many of us you really liked the FR-S, but not sure why you need to keep finding reasons for why this is the Subaru version when really none of them are solid reasons.

Well, haven't they confirmed the Scion US version is called the FR-S? If they have, then they're not going to use the 86 badges..

@tranz
Blur just said, "look like" Subie ver. Never said "it is" Subie ver. First I saw those pics, I said the same thing (look at the 2nd post). Again, we're just speculating Toyota ver... but it could be Subie ver. As current info I know, IDK. They haven't got in touch w VP and other rep to tell them the info... yet |

1) I say it's not a Subaru due to the fact that Subaru still hasn't shown off any exterior of their car except for the Subaru concept at Geneva which was the clear skeleton only. 2) In addition this looks very similar/has many similar features to the Mk2 FT-86 concept. 3) The license plate registered in Germany matches other Toyota test mules. 4) Hachi labeled the thread as Toyota/Scion so I trust his judgment. ![]() Ultimately I really don't care which car this is since I am ok with the way it looks. In the end the Subaru version and Toyota version will look very similar. So really, it doesn't matter to me one way or another. |
