They protruded out on the concept as well.

I don't mind the extension, but I hope the tail lights are different in production.

Im waiting for some to photoshop all the swirlys away. The cars details are pretty easy to see. Cmon someone with some creativity, show us what it "might" look like under the camo.

Yes iff2, you are right. However on the Mk2 concept it didn't seem as much of an eye sore to me. It could be a result of the lighting or the camo on the mule car. I don't know.

It could also be partly due to the fact the Mk2 had more of a rounded rear end (trunk + spoiler) compared to this one.

idk guys but looking at these pics, this car looks nice. Once you lower it and add new rims it will look nice.

BUT THE THING I HATE IS..... the spoiler( i know it can be removed).

BUT THE THING I HATE THE MOST IS........ the rear/front lights. EWWWWWW

Notice any similarities?

Also I have to note that this looks like the subaru version to me. Many cues taken from recent designs such as fogs, lights and mirrors.

Just looking back through this thread, it's pretty amazing that they sent this car for testing with the "86 logo" badge actually on it already. If they've got badges sorted out you'd have to think this isn't that far from production...

Nope no similarities except for both having 4 wheels (similar wheels too), 2 doors and glass. Not even remotely close.

I agree on them looking the same except for a few minor tweaks. I'll take that. If you look at some of the past partnerships in the auto industry the final products look very close to each.

Right, same exact wheels, tire profile and offset, without the subaru logo . . . oh and you completely forgot the fact that they both share the same drivetrain

I was going off the visual appearance only (yes we know about the drivetrain) since you seem to want to correlate this "test mule"/prototype seen in Germany as = Subaru version instead of the Toyota/Scion version.

Btw, the prototype/test mule seen in Germany doesn't have any inside view of the engine + transmission.
