As for restored well I wouldn't say fully. Unfortunately I don't have the time I used to to keep her in top condition. Will probably sell her once the 86 arrives
Click the link in my sig if you wanna know a bit more about her

Nice LT. I have a 77 GT Fastback and a 75 GT Coupe. Don't sell it you will regret it haha. And I guess I'm lucky to have a fiance who loves cars as much as me. She's not much for the technical side but she does love driving her barebones 91 MR2. Manual no ABS no power steering. She wouldn't have it any other way.

Yeah i worry i will too. But the rust is coming back and its getting really hard to find parts now. It doesn't help that with the LSD and power i'm making i tend to snap axles or shear teeth off the pinion at least once per year.

Are yours JDM GTs?

Not that I care one way or another, but I'm really surprised no one else has said this yet. When did this thread become about the cars? It's losing focus!

I love that old Celica! Haven't seen one in the Toronto area for decades! Probably due to our (formerly) harsh winters. When I was a kid in the early 70's my babysitter's brother across the street had one. The shape always reminded me (curiously) of a grain of rice!

I heard that Australia used to get boatloads of fairly recent used cars from Japan due to stringent and costly re-certification rules in Japan after 2 years. Wasn't sure if that was an urban myth. Gotta go there and see for myself. My nephew went to university in Sydney for 6 months recently as part of an exchange program and my brother brought his wife and other kid down for an incredible vacation. It's now on my bucket list.

Yeah there was a 'grey' imports rule which allowed Japanese cars over 10yrs old (i think) to be privately imported and complianced. So we have a tone of S13 silvias and R32 skylines here etc. The Celicas are mostly original Toyota Australia imports that have survived the last 30 - 40 years. But from what i understand we tend to get cars that are a lot closer to JDM spec than you guys.

Anyway back to the GIRLS!

PM me if you want to know more about early Celicas or the Aussie scene

Not JDM unfortunately, but they are hard to find as it is anyway! And yeah the thought has crossed my mind that parts are getting harder and harder to get, but I think if I ever sold my Celicas... who knows what will happen to them.
