Do it!! Better tires do a world of difference, even in the stock size!

You will find oodles of grip with the newer compound, not sure if a wider track at the expense of circumference and weight is worth it.

I put stock size Star Specs on my BRZ on some lightweight Kosei wheels I had previously used on my Forester XT. Huge difference, glad I bought them. I also had Star Specs on my Mustang a couple of years ago. Good all around summer tire with high levels of grip in the dry and not bad in the wet if they still have decent tread left.

Just be aware that you're not going to get much more than 20,000 miles out of them unless you drive like a grandma (which totally defeats the purpose of owning these tires lol). I went through mine in less than a year. They're fantastic tires for the price though. I love them to death, but I probably wouldn't buy them again for my street car.

I'd be thrilled if I got 10,000 miles out of a set of Star Specs, but I don't use them for daily driving, I tend to run more aggressive alignments, and they usually see a lot of autocrossing.

I have 235/40/18 and this thing is on rails.. The only way to kick it out is if you do it on purpose

I believe my mileage dropped by around 2 mpg because of the Star Specs. It is actually worse than that, but part of the drop was because I've been driving it a lot harder and having more fun with the car since I put the Star Specs on.

thanks. i think i will start looking. im pretty sure ill keep the stock size but the rims.. i may change. id love to see what yours looks like.

did you keep the old tires or were u able to get decent money for them ? i dont know what other cars use this tire-- is that 'really' a Priuss tire ??? i havent checked it but i am guesisng its the same brand but not size... they cant have such low profile sizes on those cars... hmmm

I kept the stock wheels and tires. I'll put them back on the car for winter use, if I ever take any long trips, and if/when I sell the car.

Yes, these really are Prius tires same size and everything, they are an option on Priuses sold overseas.

Same case for me, lol. I was getting 37 mpg on my 215s, but once I put 225 Star Specs, I was getting about 33mpg.
